Are these waterproof?

If you mean are they able to be submerged in a lake without your foot getting wet, then no they are not. They do very well in rain and snow, but they are not "waterproof" One's feet will get wet with prolonged exposure/immersion in water.

How’s the width? I see that most people recommend going down one size, but how’s the width on them?

I agree with James here. The width is a little narrow and these shoes are stiff as heck until broken in, I recomend using a leather conditioner as soon as possible to assist in this process and protect the fine leather of the boot. They are somewhat longer though, I normally wear a 12 and I purchased a 11.5 in store and I still have a little room. I recommend going to a Red Wing specific store if possible before purchasing. The one I went to in Phoenix, AZ was super helpful and they had a machine that you stand on that measures your foot size and pressure points to give very accurate shoe sizing and possible insole considerations. There is not really any kind of insole in the boot so once it is broken in you will definitely want to consider adding an insole.

I wear size 8 Adidas, should i order size 7 or 7.5 for the iron ranger?

I ordered a half size down and mine fit me great, the breakin period sucks but after 2 weeks and some insoles these are the best shoes iv ever owned.
