This toy is fun - and loud. I wanted a toy that was so loud our dog could not resist it. He likes squeaky toys, but has a history of destroying them quickly. The chicken is very durable and he just carried it around the house. The only issue is that it is so loud he doesn't squeak it inside. He only plays with it outside. My 15-month-old grandson, however, is another story. He found it irresistible anywhere and everywhere. He enjoys throwing it for their dog (a lab / German shepherd mix) to retrieve, shake, and make noise when he throws it. I'm ordering another one for him to take home. It is the first squeaky toy out of which their dog has not ripped the squeaker in a matter of minutes.

Our Bordoodle, Dr. Zeus, is absolutely obsessed with his chicken toys. He proudly trounces around the house with one in his mouth like he just won a prize at the county fair. It’s adorable—and impressive, considering how quickly he usually destroys toys. Most don’t last a day. These? They hold up for six months or more, which is practically a miracle in our house. This is the only brand I’ll buy for him now. The only downside is the squeakers—they tend to give out before the rest of the toy does. I’ve figured out how to mend them a bit to extend their life, but eventually, even I have to admit defeat. Thankfully, Zeus doesn’t mind. When the squeaker finally gives up, we just tell him, “Get your quiet chicken,” and he happily swaps out the noisy one for the silent version. Problem solved. If your pup is a toy destroyer but loves a good squeaky friend, give Earl a try. Dr. Zeus gives it two paws up.

No question Earl is the funniest dog toy I've ever had. The noise is truly obnoxious and loud - which makes it even more fun. (I keep one in the kitchen just for my enjoyment with the wife!) No, it doesn't last forever as the head is the first to go followed by a leg or two. But the squeaker lasts until the bitter end. For 5 bucks, it's still well worth the investment. I'm on number 4. The dog is a 75 lb pup and loves shaking it side to side for rapid noise.

My 45 pound Blue Lacy loves to play and destroys most toys in one day. Because the squeaker is so loud, this has lasted months. He bites, it squeaks, and then my dog throws it. Then repeats. I only let him play with it two days a week.

At 9AM this morning I opened the Amazon package containing this toy. My Dane has been carrying it around squeaking it non-stop and it's now 11PM. She loves the sound and wants to fill the entire house with its scream-like squawking. Since I'd like to get some sleep, I'm going to have to hide it overnight I guess. She's a 4 year old Great Dane who is not an agressive chewer (just an aggressive squeaker). This toy is easy to wipe clean and does not come apart. She sometimes tosses it in the air, let's it drop and it's still making lots of noise. But mostly she just runs around with it in her mouth chomping just hard enough to make that obnoxious noise. I must admit, despite the squawking and having to increase the TV volume substantially, I love seeing her have so much fun with this silly rubber chicken in a lifeguard suit. I've been laughing all day . . . and night. Once this wears out I will be buying another one. Maybe the next one will be an 'outside only' toy.

If you don’t mind squeaky, loud dog toys this is for your fur baby. My two large dogs can not destroy it and they wait their turn for it.

It’s extremely loud and I haven’t in the house - my 80 lb Airedale has chewed the face off on day 1 but it still squeaks. I am recovering from the surgery so I can’t walk him and I needed something to distract him and keep him busy and this thing is doing that. I think even after a while he gets tired of how loud it is. Ha ha.
