A compilation of the English singer/songwriter's most iconic early work, including her debut album 'The Kick Inside' which contains one of her biggest hits 'Wuthering Heights'. The boxset also sees reissues of her hit albums 'Never Forever', 'Lionheart' and also her 1982 album 'The Dreaming', which was produced entirely by Bush and is often characterized as her most uncommercial and experimental release.

Superb box set of Kate Bush's early studio albums on vinly
My dad is a long time fan of Kate Bush, so I have been listening to her songs since I was young & have grown to have a great appreciation of her music.Previously, I have owned her greatest hits album "The Whole Story" & have listened to songs on Spotify, but when I got into collecting vinyl, I decided that I wanted to add some of her studio albums to my LP collection. At first I was considering adding to my collection album by album, but at the time each album was £20 a piece & I came across this box set which was £49.99 at the time, so it was a no brainer. The "Remastered In Vinyl" series comes in 4 volumes. I started with Volume 1, which collects her studio albums "The Kick Inside", "Lionheart", "Never Forever" & "The Dreaming" all of which are absolutely superb albums with great songs contained on each.I was absolutely blown aways with the presentation of this collection. The 4 studio albums come in very high quality record sleeves, which are presented in a hard back & features the cover art photo from "The Dreaming" on the front, with track listing for each album on the back overlaid on artwork from "Never Forever"If you are a long time Kate Bush fan looking to collect all of her studio albums & want a collection piece that will look great on your LP shelf, look no further or if you are somebody new to collecting her albums & want a way to do it as cost effectively as possible, again this is the ideal solutionGreat box set, which is highly recomended.

Worthwhile remaster and reissue of great albums on the best format
IMHO Kate Bush is a very artistic and clever player in the music industry and this set contains some of her best and earlier material. On vinyl the box set presentation is large and well-done, although it contains no extras or add-ons.I only have some original vinyl and CD to compare but overall the remasters on vinyl sound somewhat more dynamic and open than the originals, with slightly different emphasis on individual elements in the mix here and there. I also noted an improvement in the depth of the soundstage on at least some tracks. The pressings are overall very good, with Lionheart being the only one that fell down into the good category due to a bit more surface noise and rather more pops and clicks (even after cleaning on a wet vacuum machine), although it was hardly bad. I will try a second clean.I would add that I am playing through a high end system including a Rega RP10 turntable, which is very explicit at revealing how good the recordings, masters and pressings are. Overall, very pleased to have this set.

Excellent box set and value
Been a fan of Kate Bush since she started her career. This box ser includes her first four albums, all digitally remastered. The sound quality is excellent and personality I think better than the original pressing. The order came quicker than expected and I enjoyed opening the parcel and looking at the artwork and lyrics on the sleeves. One of the joys of vinyl. Good price as well for £50.Would recommend this box set, to enjoy the music of one of the UK's most gifted and creative singer songwriters .

Beautiful remaster
Bought the originals back in the day and enjoyed them on the relatively crap stereo I had then. Having just moved house and set up a quality stereo I discovered that my son has snaffled off all my Kate Bush LPs, leaving me with only my CD copies. A perfect excuse to invest in this remastered set, it lives up to what you would expect from Kate Bush. Head and shoulders better quality than it's digital sibling and excellent value for money I give it an unreserved 5 stars.

Excellent quality vinyl reissues
The 2018 remasters all of Kate’s albums provided the opportunity to reissue them on vinyl. In the case of the four albums in this first set, it’s the first time since the 1980s that they’ve been available on this format. The box itself is a sturdy slipcase that is open at one end. There’s been a bit of criticism that album artwork is used for it rather than, say, unused photos from cover sessions. This one uses The Dreaming on the front, with the back based on Never For Ever. However, it’s what’s inside that counts. As the box itself was in sealed cellophane packaging, the individual albums inside thankfully aren’t. I tend to find the cellophane on albums so tight that it’s already started to cause ringwear on the sleeve, or there’s some other damage to the corners. Thankfully there’s none of that here. Each sleeve is true to the original artwork. The only real differences are the Fish People label logo in place of EMI’s, bar codes the originals wouldn’t have had, and revised (P) and (C) lines (confusingly all using the 2018 remaster date, so no indication of original release dates which were between 1978 and 1982).The sleeves are not scans but recreations. A noticeable example is The Dreaming back cover, which has the song titles placed slightly differently to the originals (but at a glance this isn’t obvious). The artwork has clearly been restored and looks better than ever.In the 1980s, the first two albums (The Kick Inside and Lionheart) were reissued on EMI’s budget label, Fame. Lionheart lost its embossed titles at that point, but these are fully restored here, as are the red lyrics on the inner gatefold. A lot of care has gone into this. The vinyl records are heavyweight affairs, and the quality of the remastering is excellent.I’ll nit-pick here and say that the only thing that lets these down for me is the awful Fish People label designs. Kate left EMI Records Ltd in 2011 but (having been re-named Parlophone in 2013 following its purchase by Warner Music) they continue to produce and distribute the actual product. Kate created an imprint label, Fish People, which until now had only been used on the albums she owned the rights to (everything from The Dreaming onwards). An agreement with Parlophone/Warners means that while they still own the first three albums outright, her imprint Fish People label can be used on all albums as a unifying link. Sadly the Fish People design is awful. Original albums from Never For Ever onwards all had label artwork using that of their respective albums. Here, they’ve all been replaced by the imposing Fish People brand (a non-entity, as her legal company is called Noble and Brite Ltd). I’d be fine with a small Fish People logo used on the original label designs in place of EMI’s, but no, a massive logo with a generic font to look like a 1970s record company label. Never For Ever’s labels retain something of its artwork, but it’s the only one to do so.However, despite that, this is still an excellent set and great to see and have these albums in vinyl format again.Photos show the contents of this set, plus a comparison of the back cover of Never For Ever - original 1980s sleeve on the left, and new one on the right. Similarly a Lionheart comparison - 1980s Fame reissue on the right, new issue on the left. All new issues from this set.

A great upgrade to my collection
I already have every Kate Bush album. All on vinyl except for the last few but I started listening to her when she first hit the scene while I was in high school (oops, just outed my age). Over the years, however, with multiple moves and stuff in storage for a very long time, several of the albums got warped. Turns out they are generally not available and here in the US, where she never hit it quite as big, aren't found in used record stores. Imagine my delight when I found out that there was a complete re-release series. Not cheap but I bought the first set and will be working the rest into my budget over the next few months.

Great music but record quality uneven
The music is great, unfortunately 2 of 4 records was not ok physically, one had scratches/damage to the grooves (never for ever) and one was warped beyond what is ok (dreaming). I returned it and I hope the new one is better.Update: I now have a replacement box and it was better, so I give a higher rating from 3 to 4 stars.

Kate Bush Very Well Revisited
The media could not be loaded. The new Kate reissues are really well mastered with more detail and range, (lower more defined bass on the track, Blow Away for example), than some of the originals. The reissue pressing quality is also the best out there really. EVen the album jackets are printed better than the originals since that tech has improved some much since the 80's releases. I was never a big fan of the Red Shoes but The Dreaming and Hounds Of Love are my favs. I'm splitting hairs since Sensual World and Aerial are also great albums. The best mastering job I have heard so far is Never Forever. That is the most obviously improved reissue along with the first album, The Kick Inside. Overall there is more detail, frequency range with excellent detail and imaging. The original "sound" of the albums is retained with some improvements in most cases.Otherwise, I prefer the original Dreaming slightly better in some ways but the detail on the reissue is amazing. Like the little hand bongos that echo you hear on Pull Out The Pin for example. The drum sound and her vocals are richer sounding and what I'm used to hearing compared to the reissue. Still, the reissue is worth having and improves on some of the instrumental details of this great album. For fans that already own Kate's records, these reissues are still a must have given the exceptional mastering and the vinyl pressing quality. It's also worth noting that the album artwork, jackets etc.. are an improvement over the originals- better more colourful clear printing. These are some of the best reissues I have heard from any artist in a while.
