Works very well. I've used it three times so far. It heats up the water pretty fast and warms up whatever it is you're cooking with ease. It's the perfect size for those who don't have the space for a big stove or have a stove at all. And, when not in use, you can easily tuck it away because it's so compact. While you are using it there are often these clicks and the light goes on and off. It's as if it's turning off and on but it doesn't actually turn off and remains on, however it is odd for it to click on and off like that. It doesn't bother me enough to return it, it's still a good product, it's just something to make note of.

I bought this to bring to a conference so that I can save money by cooking in my hotel room. I tested it out by seeing how fast it boils water. I started with 1quart of the hottest possible water from the faucet at 130 degrees. It reached a rolling boil in about 7 minutes, which I'm pretty happy with. It was cool to the touch after 15 minutes and completely cool at about 20 minutes after turning off the burner. I'm excited to bring this on my trip. I think it'll work great to make simple things and I'll update my review once I've returned. Update 3/29: I loved having meals in my hotel room. I cooked on it at least a half dozen times and I'm excited to bring it on future trips. The only hint of a negative is that it cleaning under the burner is challenging (I had a pot boil over a little bit). But for the price point and nature of the item I didn't expect to be able to take it apart, so my review remains at 5 stars.

Very good for the price.

My kitchen stove is temporarily out of commission, so I got this as a backup. It works as well as a small stove burner, with more than enough heat to cook pretty much anything. The dial control allows you to set the heat wherever you need. I can only cook one thing at a time, of course, but most of my meals are one-pan anyway, so not a problem for me. It's very stable and supports all my pans well, much like cooking on a stove top. I spent a couple of days cooking on a small gas backpacking stove, and that was a little dicey. Be sure that the first time you turn it on, you are outdoors or in a well-ventilated garage or similar place. It will smoke and stink for a couple of minutes. The instructions do caution about this. After that, you're good to go. Overall, very satisfied.

WE have used our little single burner for alot of things... alot -- and it has Performed BEAUTIFULLY!!!! The basement apartment does not have a cooktop and --granted we do not do alot of cooking --- when we need to pot/pan cook.... this beautiful thing has been a champ -- (in other words its not just able to cook well --- it excels) (alot of our cooking is actually done in a Gourmia) I do not notice any noise -- its compact for a "kitchen area of less than a 2x6 counter -- easy to clean, as long as you do not let it sit too long to clean it The cord might be too short for some -- but for us.. we dont see an issue

These came in clutch when my stove broke. I used two of these and 2 crackpots (crockpots not crackpots 🤭) for Thanksgiving dinner. Everything turned out great (

You get what you pay for. Works fine but hard to clean.
