Yes it would be perfectly safe. Extension leads should be rated at 13amps (3120 watts). This oven draws less than half of that

Can the oven and both plates be used at the same time? Does the thermostat control the temperature of the hot plates?

Yes you can use oven and hot plates at same same time and yes thermostat controls temputure of hot plates

Do the hotplates and oven work at the same time, some models this isn’t possible

Both work together but at same temperature only one thermostat knob.
