Upright performance, cordless convenience. * Say hello to power, capacity, and versatility in a form you’d never expect. The Shark ION P50 includes all of the upright features that consumers know and love, now in a cordless vacuum cleaner: Powered Lift-Away, DuoClean, Anti-Allergen Complete Seal Technology, a large dust cup, and up to 50 minutes of runtime**. The ION P50 is a whole-home cordless cleaning solution. *Based on overall cleaning performance vs. Shark NV105. **In ION Power mode measured at the handle. Review: 6 MONTHS LATER AND I STILL LOVE IT - I was very nervous about buying a vacuum through desertcart. After a ton of research and reading reviews I decided on the Shark ION because I wanted something low profile, cordless, and with decent power. I don't regret this decision one bit! Here are the pros & cons: Pros Cordless and lightweight it doesn't take up much room at all. The roller is active both on floor & carpet mode which I love. The front roller is coated in a velvet-like material which does two things - it allows for a smoother glide on hardwood without that grating sound, and it attracts pet hair better than a standard plastic roller with bristles. We have a dog that sheds all year long and this vacuum has been holding up to my daily abuse. The dirt canister is small and fills up quickly but it's easy to empty. Just recently I decided to clean out the rollers since I know I had hair and string wrapped around it. New favorite feature I found: the roller is detachable with the simple press of a button and this made cleaning super easy. 5 minutes or less with no hassle and I didn't need to bust out the scissors to cut hair or string away. The cordless option has made this a great option for vacuuming the car. Cons I live in a 300sq ft studio so battery charge is not an issue for me, I can usually get 3 full vacuum sessions out of a charge. So if you are planning on using this in a real house you might only be able to do a few rooms at a time. It has a button for extra suction power which works great, but the downside is you have to keep pressure on the button while you're using it. I use this feature when I'm vacuuming our rug and I do get tired of holding the button down but even the Dyson cordless vacuum has this same drawback - likely to conserve battery power. the only other thing I wish this had was an attachment with a wider head for vacuuming a couch. The only attachment it came with is your standard slim hose to get in cracks etc. All in all I would highly recommend this if you are looking for cordless and you have pets. Review: Not a sponsored product reviewer - love it!!!! - I have a Kirby and just moved to a house with all hardwoods or tile! As much as I love my heavy, lunky, ancient vacuum, it was to much to change levels all the time to not destroy my rugs (or vaccum). I researched a lot! I wanted the mop/sweeper that’s advertised, but didn’t want to clean it after every use. I looked at the D brand options too. I decided I want cordless and liff away, I want to not dread getting it out, and I want something more powerful than my dustbuster. This thing is my new bff, I guess that means I’m finally growing up (don’t ask my age, it’s in the middle range). This does not have the non tangle roller, but it does have a nice deep groove on the roller and between me, the dog, the cat, and the occasional fosters, there’s a lot of hair here. I do have to cut that off occasionally, the groove makes it nice as with a sharp pair of scissors I can slice it and pull. Gets everything on flat surface including kitty litter. Rugs I have to use the booster and go slow to get the dog hair off, but it does come off. SO EASY to take apart, can lift away and go under things, grab the handle, grab the long connector, grab the canister and either part. It literally drops back on. I actually tried to make it way harder than it was, then i realized, place and drop =click done. I am going through a medical treatment so I don’t have my normal energy or strength. It is heavier than a dustbuster, but totally doable to take the whole thing up or downstairs. Canister is lighter once off, I can sit it on stairs or carry and sweep them. It’s really not bad because the weight is distributed well so it doesn’t throw me off balance. I’m going to Shark to get the attachments, it has them for car, keyboards, motarized hand tool for hair/furniture, dusters, stand chargers, etc. Oh! That reminds me, 3 ways to charge, plug in, battery stand, or battery, so you could get an extra battery if you want to keep going. Timing was accurate, booster takes you to about 20 min, standard 40-50 depending on how much to detach/switch between floor and carpet. Super easy to dump. Shocked how much it picks up! I watched for desertcart price changes (sometimes just for a day) got $100 off and bought a steamer that does floor or liftsaway too. Way more sanitary than the mop and easier to clean (hi washer). Very happy with purchase.

Finally! Great vacuum.
I bought the ion P50 to replace my 5 year old shark lift away. I did a lot of research on comparable vacuums prior to deciding on the P50. I bought the unit on sale and the price was amazing. I’ve been using it for about a month now and it’s surpassed my expectations. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a cordless vacuum. I was a little apprehensive about buying a cordless unit because I had several bad experiences in the past with battery powered vacuums being underpowered and an inconvenience because of short battery life. This vacuum is surprisingly powerful. The battery lasts long enough that I can vacuum my entire home on one charge. The suction is a 8 out of 10 compared to my plug in vacuum. It’s got a hard floor setting and a carpet setting. I have to say that it cleans my floors better than the plug in unit. The dual brushes pick up more dust and debris. On carpets, it doesn’t have the same draw to pull up deep down dirt. If you press the boost button it works flawlessly on carpet but it does drain the battery much more quickly. I should have bought a second battery and charging cradle so that I would have a fully charged battery available all of the time. Truth be told, I haven’t used my plug in vacuum since I bought the P50 and I don’t think I will again. I am very happy with the performance. Very impressed that they actually managed to build a cordless vacuum that can finally replace my corded unit! Well done.

Pros and Cons
I have 2 Belgium Malinois that are working dogs, high end of medium for shedding so vacuuming daily is a must. I got this on black Friday sale, so less than half cost. (Important for later) Pros: 1. suction is AMAZING 2. Light weight 3. Maneuvers around, under and up to furniture, walls, beds etc. excellent. 4. Cordless Cons: 1.Probably tackles pet hair for chihuahua's like a champ. I have to physically turn over and pull out hair from the self cleaning teeth about every 7 - 10 uses. 2. Every 7 -10 uses is about every two days. Canister is SMALL. 3. Battery life is not so bad, BUT recharging it takes FOREVER. Way to long to wait if you cant do the whole house with one charge. It's the worst part of the vaccuum. So overall, I'm glad I have this because it is a good little machine, for a quick run through, hard to reach places, and those bi-annual chores like ceiling fans, blinds etc. It will not be replacing my Dyson as I had hoped, even if it was larger because of the pain of having to clean out the bottom so often. What I would never do is recommend this at full price. I would have returned it, no questions. What I will recommend is investing get a second battery. That would be worth every penny.

Powerful and Versatile
I’m super happy with the ION P-50. We wanted a light weight vacuum for everyday cleaning and something that could also be used as a hand vac for the cars. We’ve owned a small Shark Vac for years and it’s been awesome so decided to give the P-50 a try. So I didn’t think it would replace our big upright but it actually does such a good job we’re only using the big upright about once a month. The P-50 does a good job on our area rugs which have a fairly tall nap and an outstanding job on the hardwood floors. You don’t have to change the head to move from hardwood to carpet. The lift away unit is light and easy to maneuver around tight places and under furniture. The battery life is pretty good. I get about 30 min. on boost and more on standard mode. We have hardwoods and carpet and I can do the living room, dining room, kitchen, and one of the bedrooms on a single charge. It does everything we need and more. If you’re looking for a versatile, everyday vacuum you can’t go wrong with the P-50.

What magical unicorn sorcery is this?
I have been contemplating a cordless stick vac for a year, since we moved to a home without carpet. We have 2 dogs and 4 cats. Keeping up with giant dust bunnies is not my favorite past time. I wanted a tool that might at least beckon me to suck up those mutant balls of fur. I decided the robot vaccuum wasn't right. I'd be cleaning brushes every day and rescuing it from wherever it is held prisonn. Nope. That just seemed like a product dettermined to make me think it was making life easier. Boring! I considered that one by Dy$@+, the D8. I couldn't bring myself to pay that price. I considered Bi$$el. I'm pretty loyal to the brand. The reviews were not great. I finally discovered this P50 by Shark. Out of the box, it was very easy to piece together. I did use the step by step picture. The light. I love the light. That's right, light up those little dust bunny creatures before i suck them up into oblivion. Yes, clearly i took a little too much pleasure in operating this machine. I love how easily I can convert it to the use or purpose i need. With a click of a button, i can take the tank off to get under the beds. The wand and brush are perfect for the AC vents and intake. It picked up candy papers, pine needles, and ALL the dust bunnies. It tried to pick up a pencil. It sucked it up and all it could do was roll around the brush. As far as I am concerned, this is the magical unicorn of cleaning tools. I thought that title belonged to my steam mop. The Shark Ion P50 has claimed that title. Sorry mop! You will still get your moments to shine. Maybe if you got a light, I'd make you make you Mom's favorite again.

Not built to last! Please read this review if you are considering purchasing this vacuum!
It is with deep regret that I am now returning my 2nd Shark Ion P50 vacuum. Amazon has been amazing, but the vacuum itself has a weak point, and that is why I am returning it and why I cannot recommend it to others. You see, there is a small plastic piece on the bottom of the vacuum that holds one of the brush rolls in place. On our first vacuum, this piece broke off after about 4 months of use, which caused the brush roll to turn unevenly since it was not held in place on one end. This made the vacuum essentially unusable. We used this vacuum frequently (2-3 times a week), but we were not particularly hard on the vacuum and generally took good care of it (cleaning dust bin, brush rolls and filters), and as far as we can tell, there was no reason for this tiny plastic piece to have broken. Turns out replacing this tiny plastic piece meant replacing the entire floor nozzle, which is sold by Shark as a replacement part for $90 (plus $20 shipping and tax). And no, the replacement is NOT covered by Shark’s warranty. We were dismayed at the thought of paying nearly 1/2 the cost of the entire vacuum to simply replace this tiny plastic piece with no guarantee the replacement wouldn’t also brake. But we also LOVED the vacuum otherwise. We contacted Amazon and they worked with us to get a deal worked out so that we could buy another vacuum at a reasonable price. (A+++ for Amazon and its customer service.) Alas, we have had the new vacuum for 28 days now, and upon inspection, we have found two small cracks in the same plastic piece that broke last time. Seems the part is destined to once again break, leaving us in the no win dilemma we faced previously. With much regret, we have decided to return the vacuum for good and look for alternatives. We absolutely LOVED the way this vacuum performed, but it’s unacceptable that such a tiny piece of the vacuum can so easily break and make the vacuum unusable after literally only a couple months of use. I’m also highly disappointed in Shark’s warranty and customer service. Will think twice before purchasing another Shark product.

Bought this vacuum for a hardwood floor apartment and LOVE it
I've had a Shark vacuum that I've used on carpets for years, and have never had a problem with it. Recently I moved into an apartment with hardwood floors, and I knew having to plug that vacuum in to pick up pet hair and debris would be a barrier to using it. I picked up this vacuum to meet that need and absolutely love it. By placing the battery and suction components at the bottom of the vacuum, it feels incredibly lightweight and maneuverable even though it's fairly heavy. The battery is great and lasts long enough for 2-3 thorough cleaning sessions without needing to be charged. The battery can also be charged in 3 ways - placing it in a dock, plugging it directly into the adapter, or plugging in the entire vacuum. It has fantastic suction, and is very easy to empty. It can work on carpets, but I find that I still prefer my corded vacuum to get a deeper clean. On the hardwood floors though this vacuum is unbeatable, and it's a fraction of the price of comparable Dyson vacuums. Can't recommend it enough!

Me encanta

Expensive, but definitely worth it.
This vacuum has it all. It’s cordless, quiet, powerful, light, and it is a completely sealed system, so there is no ‘vacuum’ smell.
