Are the holes in the dipping tray large enough to use with dipping pretzel rods?

No they are not. They can only hold lollipop stick and maybe paper straws. Not big enough For pretzel rods. Hope this helps

Is the purple melting cup microwavable?

I think that it is. Since it has been a couple of years since I purchased this, I'm not 100% certain. I think that it would have to be in order to melt the candy. We gave it as a gift to our granddaughter.
