When connecting to hotel WiFi, does this reliably pass the hotel login (captive portal) page and allow sign-in?

I have xfinity WiFi hot spot here, similar to a hotel, it requires a browser pop up to authenticate when a new device connects for the first time. My phone worked great. I have an old laptop that could not even detect the xfinity hotspot so I got this router. I had trouble at first. I connected the laptop to the router with an Ethernet cable and the router connected to the hotspot but no browser pop up to authenticate (bind Mac address). In frustration, I walked away from the laptop, connected to the router via wifi with my phone and then bam, I got the xfinity wifi browser popup. Once I logged in, it authenticated the router and now my lap top has internet access through the router as well as my xbox, wii, roku tv and phone. As far as xfinity knows, there is only one device on their network. It's not really breaking their rule as I generally can only use two devices at a time anyway. It's been working great for a couple of weeks now. Sombody else mentioned theirs burned out after a few days, I suspect they may have plugged into a fast charger and not the one that came with it?

There are two versions of the ac750 device: tl-wr902ac v1 and tl-wr902ac v3. which version is for sale here??

Yes, I was able to set it up with my phone using the phones web browser.

May i use my android cellphone data as the source? Connecting via usb?

You’d need usb stick modem with sim card slot. And need to take out the sim from phone and put into usb stick modem. And then usb stick into this WiFi router.
