Good
It was a good in between story. I liked it, but having read some of the best work from Chanda Hahn this is definitely not at those same standards. The character does go through a growth spurt, and I can tell the book it leads to will be everything Hahn does best. A definite read of you're hooked on the series.

Another Fun Pastime
Before the IRON BUTTERFLY series, I wasn't Hahn's biggest fan. I thought she was ALRIGHT, but nothing worth buying. After reading IRON BUTTERFLY, I was fascinated. So it wasn't surprising that I eventually purchased STEELE WOLF.I still like the characters and I love this rendition of an old tale (or I should say a "done before" story). The grammatical/structural errors, though noticed, didn't irritate me enough to put it down.I like the direction that this series is going in. I also appreciate that she wraps up each book in a way that the reader knows there is more, but doesn't feel obligated to continue. The only issue that I have with this series (or maybe it`s her style?) is that there are A LOT of times that I am more aware of the main character's situation than what she is...and this story is told through the "I" perspective...I'm not referring to the who-likes-who aspect of this story. I am referring to the who-done-it aspect of the story. Or the supposed mysteries that arise within these stories. This would REALLY upset me if these books were in the genre of "mystery," but since they are not, it is just an annoyance.I know that her books fall within the "young adult" category, but it almost seems like the author doesn't think so highly of her intended audience. She dumbs things down in a way that simplifies something that wasn't really needed.Don't get me wrong. I still like the story and the series. I will, most likely, purchase the third book when it comes out. I hope that the third book will improve upon the issue that I (and I imagine a few others) have.Either way Hahn's series is a great time killer.

awesome read
Wow. Nowadays its rare that my attention is kept continously troughout multiple books and there is NONE of the characters that I loath or just been irritated by throughout multiple scenes. BUT not this book. Not CH! So again entering into this amazing world was awesome fantastic and gave me all visuals without being an overkill in description but still umderstanding the city. Even we had less multi-place adventure here compared to book1 it was still interesting and entertaining learning about Skyfell.Luved also the romance side of the book!So thank you AGAIN! Im happily jumping onto the last book!!! :)

Thalia meets the inventor of the iron butterfly
This has to be my favorite book in the series. There is just the right amount of conflict and "downtime," which allowed for more character development; that of which made this book so much better.Thalia is making her way home with her father, after they arrive her father tells her she is to be married to Fenri, otherwise her uncle will petition that the leadership be turned over to her cousin. Thalia refuses Fenri, thus begins the Kragh Aru. A competition for anyone, denai excluded, to fight for the hand of Thalia. Before the final fight of the Kragh Aru, Thalia is again taken from her home. Who shows up to find her? Of course the ever present Kael. Joss appears at the same time to ask Thalia for help finding his sister, who has just disappeared.Skyfell: a floating city surrounded by a veil of mist, so heavy you can only view glimpses of the city when the mist swirls. While at skyfell, the competition between Kael and Joss intensifies. Skyfell is also where Thalia finds a conne tion to the Iron Butterfly.Chandra Hahn did definitely has a way with words and emotions. For example pages 139- 141 had me laughing at the terrified faces of the characters, I could just picture it. Page 246 is another example, possibly my favorite in the book. She definitely had me laughing and smiling, and mad at certain characters as well as concerned for others.

A Second Book Actually Better Than The First
I downloaded UnEnchanted and The Iron Butterfly while they were free off Amazon. UnEnchanted was good but Iron Butterfly was much more the type of story I like, enough so that I bought the sequel to continue the story. I find most middle books in a trilogy more filler and really not as good as the first or the last. Steele Wolf was just as good if not a better than the first, in my opinion. As others said, this one does seem to have more errors in it than the first. I found places where the author most likely had a sentence written one way and then changed it but forgot to delete a word. There are some punctuation/formatting errors where an open quote isn't started but you can tell that a character is speaking or sometimes italics that are always used to portray a character speaking isn't in italics. There were also some minor inconsistencies in the story itself. In one place the main character refers to someone looking into her "green" eyes where in at least two other places she is described as having blue. Another place Kael is asking her a question and her response is something about going to find "his" sister. They are looking for the sister of Joss not Kael. But really, for $2.99 to continue a fairly intriguing story, this stuff didn't really distract me and I'm happy with my purchase. Definitely looking forward to a third in this story arc.

Excellent read
I really enjoyed this author's imagination. The world was vividly brought to life with the words the author chose. Well laid out, thoughtful, and impressively descriptive. I very much loved reading this. Thank you for writing it!

Well written & captivating read
Having been brought up on "real" books the move to Kindle books has opened up a whole new world of authors to me & Chanda Hahn is one of the bestI guess that this book is aimed at a younger audience (early teens) as it contains a degree of romance, violence and adventure. If you were able to suspend disbelief to enjoy the last (most violent) book of the Harry Potter series you should enjoy this dark and enthralling series.I read a chapter of a book to my daughter (age 10) most evenings and after working our way through "UnEnchanted (An Unfortunate Fairy Tale)" she asked me if there were any books by the same author. We tried The Iron Butterfly and she loved it. It was a story about a young woman named Thalia who finds herself imprisoned and tortured with no memories of why she is there. Without giving away any plot, she escapes and we are introduced to a host of new characters who help and hinder her journey to the Citadel. The Steele Wolf picks up where the the Iron Butterfly left off. Thalia is now settled in the citadel, with the help of friends and under the guidance of the Adepts and a Sword Brother she finds she is stronger than she thought. She sets of in pursuit of enemies but finds not everyone is who they first appeared to be...If Chanda ever writes a book 3 I will be one of the first to buy a copy.

Twisted, and twisting, relentlessly compelling.
We find our heroine, Thalia having found her lost family, reunited with them. They are weirded out by the changes in her, while plots are made around them that put them in danger. And soon she embarks on another journey, with the two men that she has baffling relationships with, where they will face deception and trials and danger. I am dotting on her dark paramour, the mysterious, brooding Kael, rather than Joss (and I am proven right about my dislike of Joss, mid-way through the book).Fans of Poison Study, Fire-Graceling and Throne of Glass will get hooked on this series, which starts with The Iron Butterfly.
