The Black & Decker Easy Steam Compact Iron has been a surprisingly reliable workhourse for me. The quality feels better than I expected at this price point, and it's held up well with regular use. The power is strong enough to get wrinkles out quickly, and the TrueGlide non-stick soleplate really does glide smoothly over fabric. One of my favorite things is the size! It's compact enough to fit perfectly in my suitcase along with all the sewing accessories I haul around for classes and travel projects. For anyone who needs a portable iron, this is a big win! The water capacity is decent for its size, and I haven't had leakage issues, even when using steam frequently. The cord length is workable, and the dual-position cord helps keep it out of the way while ironing. My only real wish (and the reason it's not a 5-star review) is that the cord was retractable. That would make packing it up so much easier and would take this from great to perfect for travel. Overall, a durable, compact, and dependable little iron that gets the job done well.

This is just a step up from your basic iron because it includes a vertical steaming feature, giving you an option to steam clothes on a hanger. Construction and materials are good and it works as it should. Recommended for a good basic iron.

I just used this for the first time today. This very inexpensive little iron works exactly as it should. High steam output, lightweight, simple dial. TWO things you should know before ordering: 1. It has no special little "CLEAN OUT" button for cleaning the interior. 2. It has no automatic shut off, so don't leave it forgotten on the ironing board!

Great steam iron ... name brand at a reasonable price, perfect size and weight for me. The only complaint I have is that the teal color of plastic water tank is too dark to clearly see the water level without a flashlight or squinting.

While checking reviews; others have noted that they received a used iron. This is simply not true. The box literally says it may have moisture in the reservoir due to being tested at the factory (see photos). Apparently they need to include that in coloring book form. Jokes aside, it's a cheap iron. It gets hot and makes steam. Worked fine on both poly and cotton sports coats. Plenty of steam. As with anything that gets hot, it will give off a burning metallic smell that goes away with use. No issues with leaking unless you're jamming on the steam button repeatedly. Fwiw, this is the first iron I have ever owned and I was able to use it with no issues. Didn't burn or ruin my suits. A little common sense and reading comprehension goes a long way.

This is advertised on Amazon UK - I did not expect it to be coming from the USA and not have an english plug on the cord. Just something for other UK purchasers to be aware of.

This is a super lightweight and compact iron with good gliding surface. It works well, no dripping so far, I find the cable to be long enough. It is compact, but the water tank is enough for about 10 minutes of ironing at full power without need for refill. Iron is only 1200 W, not 2000 W as stated here. I bought this IR06V variant for 40 CAD and preferred it over buying the cheaper one IR06VC sold for 25 CAD just because I thought it was 2000 W. I wonder what the difference between IR06V and IR06VC is. When used at maximum power the iron turns on every 15-20s when in use, which is a bit unusual. Anyways I use it for daily quick (max 5 minutes) ironing at full power and so far no issues with it. I might write an update later. And for those that might be concerned, I also had water droplets inside the tank, but this should be not something one should be worried about. It is actually a proof that this item was tested for quality. EDIT: After nearly a year it is still going strong and there is no dripping. Very good product, I cn recommend.

It works as expected. It it holds for 2-3 years, then it's worth it. The only problem I have is that the description on Amazon says clearly "2000W", which was a factor when I bought it, only to find out it's only 1200W. It would have been a 5 star for a 1200W iron. The seller should change the description and stop deceiving customers.
