Specification: Name: DB9 Male Female solderless module Plug type: One Male, one Female Joint material: Pure copper plated joint Contact Material: Copper Pin Pitch: 5.08mm/0.2in Strip length:7-8mm Wire range: 28-12AWG Torque: 0.4Nm (3.5Lb-In.) Size: 63mm×32mm×19mm/ 2.48″×1.26″×0.75″ Package includes: 2 x DB9 Female and Male Connector in One Breakout Board Review: Great Quality Serial Passthrough Connector Ideal for Hobbyists - I’ve found this DB9 breakout connector surprisingly useful, especially when I’m scoping signals and want to avoid the usual hassle of splicing wires or trying to probe awkward pins. Being able to see exactly which pin I’m working with makes the whole process so much smoother and a lot less risky. The terminal blocks feel solid and reliable. They clamp down firmly on jumper wires and don’t introduce any of those annoying intermittent contacts that can introduce spurious signals. The PCB itself is nicely laid out, and the silkscreen mapping each terminal to its pin is clear and easy to follow. Even the DB9 male and female connectors are individually numbered, which is one of those small touches you don’t realise you appreciate until you’re in the middle of a project. What I’ve liked most is how these breakouts make scoping and injecting serial signals effortless. Instead of building yet another custom cable and hoping I’ve wired it correctly, I can just drop this inline and scope signals directly from the terminal block. Overall its a well made and versatile breakout board, whether you want to simply scope for signals or inject your own, it makes the whole process that much easier. Review: Really like these. - Really handy little breakout boards. 9 pin D male to female, with screw terminals. Exactly what's needed to hook up serial lines to a breadboard, or tap into a serial line for testing. Connections are marked on the terminals with both pin number and (common) usage for a standard RS232 line from the perspective of the male connector. (everything swaps of course for the other way) Nice touch - there's a bit of foam on the back so nothing shorts out when you put it on a cluttered bench. and there are mounting holes to fix it permanently if that's necessary (for example, as test points in a cabinet). Love it.
