My HFT sander switch died and I needed a replacement. The dimensions and terminal layout for this switch were identical to the sander, and it also has a higher current rating so it shouldn't fail like the original did. The only thing I didn't realize is that this switch has a red LED in it and so as long as the sander is plugged in, the light is on. I will just leave the sander unplugged when not in use (because it bugs me to always have an LED light on for no reason), but if someone was on a battery system, this would be a current drain on the system.

These switches are sturdy enough considering that once installed they should be well encased within the item they are used. They have a solid click and the pressure needed to switch on and off are sufficient enough to keep them from being switched accidentally on or off. The reason I took one star from them is the mixed advertising and the difference in the pictures vice what I received. I'll explain: First, look at the advertisement, the UL cert and information on the side of the switch is printed in white and easy to read. The switches I received are subdued and very hard to read. Also, the "catch all" advertising is misleading. One statement says that this 30A can also be used for 20, 15, etc. which is dangerously misleading. Putting a 30A switch in a machine which calls for 20 A is not recommended, as it creates a dangerous precedence and may lead someone to believe they can then do this with other components such as the breaker which may then lead to a fire or overheating. Although many things can easily and safely be done as diy, electrical items are not something that should be done by anyone who isn't certified to handle electrical equipment. Also, there is no diagram with the switch, and within the advertisement is basically says to look up a typical DPST switch for information. I consider this very bad form. I personally think these are decent switches, but the advertisement and supporting documentation need work.

I am very pleased with these power switches. Although they are a bit larger than usual, they have been perfect for my son's electrical circuit experiments. Building out my own power distribution unit for a "sim pit", and needed some switches. Got these two on Vine. The BAD: Nothing at all! The GOOD: while everything is still being built, I did some early testing.... 1. They support 30A. 2. The tabs are large enough for easy soldering, clips, connectors, etc. 3. If you cut the mounting juuuust right, they clip into place smoothly with very little rattle. 4. The switch face is large and easy enough to "flip". And yet they are unlikely to be accidentally flipped. 5. Build feels solid, no buzz, no sparking, just a solid click. 6. The light is easily viewable even in bright spaces.

I used this switch for a relay for the mail power to my winch. Unlike more rocker switches this one has a rubber gasket sealing in between the rocker and switch base itself which was the main selling point for me. This prevents dust, dirt and grime from prematurely wearing your switches out. The led light is just right, not too dim and not too bright.

I needed some power switches for some projects here and I wanted them to have active lights like these do so I thought I'd try these out. They worked out great, they're easy to install, have standard spade wiring adapters for easy hookups, and they're very sturdy and well built. The switch takes enough pressure that you won't accidentally turn it on or off, you really have to give it a decent push to toggle it. The light is not overly bright, it won't distract you, but you can clearly see it when it's on. My watt-meter was not able to register any readable draw by the light, so it's less than 0.05 watts, basically zero. These a great value and I would recommend them for your AC projects. BTW if anyone else was wondering, like I was, the terminals that are closer to the center of the switch, those are the input terminals, and the terminals closer to the edge (where 'O' is marked on the switch), those are the output terminals.

I've used many of these types of waterproof switches for my electrical projects, These are okay. They are nice and large, have a nice rubber gasket and a nice switch face. The gasket isn't sealed to the switch, so water ingress is still possible, making these more of a "water resistant" switch. The clicking is not the most satisfactory, But it will do the job just fine. Rated at 250v 30A, This switch can be used on high current devices, Though personally i would stick to 120v 15A through this. Overall decent value water resistant switches for your high current AC needs.
