Organic Comfrey Salve for Skin – Herbal Moisturizing Balm with Aloe, Turmeric & Calendula | Coconut Oil & Beeswax Botanical Skin Care (2 oz)

I want to start off with the good of this salve... I believe it is a good quality salve for the skin and moisturizes well. The ingredients are wonderful. Unfortunately, the execution of the packaging and consistency was a major miss. It came with a shrink-wrapped plastic around the edges to hold the lid on, but it had leaked quite a bit. The container was intact. After a little cleanup, I found the lid was a bit difficult to remove. I'm not sure if it was the slippery feel from the leaking or the suction on the lid, or both. Once it was finally opened I found that the product was not in a solid form, but rather a runny oily consistency. It was quite the mess. I did try out the salve from that point (rather than what had already got on my hands) and the salve blended and moisturized nicely. Understandably it has an oil base so it isn't going to soak in 100% like a lotion may. The little speck ingredient in the salve melted on my skin. I can't say for sure but I believe that may have been the coconut oil? Then came time to close it up. That's not happening.... There really was not "snap" to the lid, like the container didn't have that typical lip to catch the lid and hold it on right, and the pressure from the aur inside the container kept popping the lid up and off. nI tried to clean as much of the salve off from inside the lid and around the rim of the container and it helped a little, but did not last. This product is not bad, and I am sad to be negative, but in order to make it more comfortable to store and use, the container needs to be changed, or the product needs to be adjusted somehow to be solid.

This salve was a no for me. It arrived already leaking, and the tin was covered in oil, which made it hard to open even after wiping it down. Once I finally got it open, the texture looked goopy and melted, and the smell was not something I felt comfortable putting on my skin. It was extremely oily, and even a small amount on my hand did not feel right. The appearance had little dots in it, and I could not tell if that was normal. Maybe I received a bad batch, but overall it did not look or feel like something I wanted to use.

The texture is smooth and absorbs right without feeling greasy. It has nice herbal aroma to it. It is soothing without being overwhelming. I have used it on dry skin and it work well and provide moisture to dry skin. Only drawback was I received it damaged and it was a mess at first to start with.

This salve has a thick, herbal texture that spreads easily over dry or rough skin. The scent is strong and earthy, and it absorbs slowly without leaving a greasy residue. I found it mildly soothing on small scrapes and dry patches, though it does not feel deeply healing or medicinal.

I really wanted to like this slave because I've heard of Sprigs other great salves before, but this one was kind of a pain... It was very difficult opening up the can; it took a few minutes to prop it open, and the salve came melted in liquid form, so I spilled some before it even opened, and got some of my clothes. When I finally opened the can, it was completely melted liquid and very oily... and smelled like cooking oil as well. I do not know if it heals anything, but for me, it is way too oily and in liquid form to apply to my skin. I don't like the smell, and I do not like oil liquid. Maybe someone will have better luck with this salve, but unfortunately, I did not. I do understand that some people will review it for the benefits, but for me because it was so hard to open this can, and because it feels and smells so oily... It is simply not for me. And I also understand that sometimes you might get a bad batch with these salves, and sometimes you might get a great one, and that is why I am giving it a 3-star review.

Was really excited to use this massage balm however I may not have received the best product because it was opened prior to arrival. Additionally, the smell is not strong at all and due to its ODD appearance and lack of good smell I could not use this. Would not recommend

Strange salve. Very oily - was seeping out of the packaging despite the plastic seal around the tin. Very green, as you can see, and a bit grainy? Maybe the coconut. I was expecting the salve to be more solid and less goopy. Very moisturizing though.
