Dimensions Gold Collection Counted Cross Stitch Kit, European Bistro, 16 Count Dove Grey Aida, 11'' x 16''

I just started this project and am really enjoying it. The instructions are easy, although NOT for a beginner, unless you like a challenge. It is just such a beautiful piece of art. I am traveling to Europe for the first time soon and am wanting to Mark the year with a craft....this was a great choice. The threads are all divided and easy to see and choose. Color coded instructions on two separate pieces of instructions and two needles as well.

I'm incredibly happy with this product. It comes in a nice and thick, protective plastic folder. The thread comes pre-organized - which saves so much time and hassle. And importantly for beginners specifically, the instructions and guidelines are easy to follow (which are in English and in French). I've already started mine and I'm really impressed with the quality. This particular design is wonderfully colourful. The only thing I would mention for beginners is to make sure they have an embroidery hoop, as it does not come with one. It hasn't stopped me from starting mine, but I do intend to buy one because it makes it so much easier to work.

This is a beautiful picture. The colors are so varied and rich. The only bad thing I have to say about it is that I have never used a pattern that actually doesn't indicate the half stitches. Others show the different colors on each half. This design doesn't do that, just shows the back stitch line going through the middle of the square that has only one color design on it. Sometimes it isn't even in the middle, but 1/3 and 2/3 of the square. It is very easy to miscalculate where to put half stitches and know for sure what the two colors are. Other than that it is a very rewarding picture to make.

I'm never unhappy with the Dimension Gold Collection counted cross stitch kits. In fact, it was a Gold kit ("Stately Palm") which first introduced me to the craft over twelve years ago. I've read some reviews of the Gold Collection kits which warn these are not for beginners. I disagree! When I picked up my first Dimensions Gold kit, I found the directions to be CLEAR and easy to follow. As is true with all of their kits, "European Bistro" is clearly charted and in color to help the stitcher follow the chart. I usually start by making myself a "working copy" of section of the chart so I can freely highlight each line as I work through the stitching. It might also help to enlarge the chart a little bit if you make a copy to stitch from, but it certainly isn't a requirement. The other HUGE benefit to the more recent Dimensions Brand kits is the PRE-SORTED floss. This is a huge time saver! I'm accustomed to keeping my flosses in "Floss Away" baggies to help keep myself organized and prevent losing or wasting any unused pieces of floss. I have never run out of flosses while working on a Dimensions Gold kit, but I believe the company will send you extras of any fibers you might run out of while stitching. I give this kit an A+ for design, use of color and clearly written directions/charting. If you're new to cross stitch there is no reason not to "exclude" yourself from trying this or any of Dimensions' projects. If you love the design, I think you'll be motivated to stitch more often and finish your project. Give this craft a try! This a beautiful piece when done and I can’t wait to get it framed. HOWEVER unlike most demensions kits there was not enough thread. I had to order a second kit to finish: it was VERY short. I tried to contact the company but was unable to do so. So keep that in mind before ordering. I’d do again myself.

First off, the shipment came early and very well wrapped in the box. Then I opened it...my first thought was what did I get myself into?:) This thing is so big it requires two guideline sheets. And that alone is colorful. All of the materials are great quality and instructions very straight forward. I cannot wait to start this! I plan to take pictures at every stage through what promises to be a lengthy but rewarding journey.

I've been cross stitching for 12-13 years, so I'm pretty advanced. I had the European Bistro pattern on my Amazon wishlist for months, and I finally decided I needed a new project. The pattern is very elaborate and there are lots of color changes, but I'm really enjoying it. I've been working on it for four months (but I also work full time), and I'm about 1/3 done, which is the fastest I've ever worked. The kit comes with everything you need to begin (2 needles, plenty of thread, pattern, and fabric). The only thing I would recommend is buying a frame or hoop if you don't already have one. It's a large piece and you don't want to ruin the fabric by holding it constantly. DON'T purchase if you are not an advanced cross stitcher! Otherwise it has been a lot of fun to work on!

I haven't completed it yet, but it's a gorgeous project and I'm enjoying doing it. Well worth the money.

Tolles Bild. Techniken, die man selten benutzt. Ich habe extra Stoff mit 22 ct benutzt und ein paar extra Farben dazu gegeben. Hab ca. Ein halbes Jahr daran gearbeitet. Das Ergebnis ist sehr schön geworden
