Happy so far and hope it lasts longer than the other versions I purchase
I have bought two other products similar to this one but there are designed exclusively for the cell phones. They both barely made it a year before snapping. They both failed at essentially the same area which is just below the collar near the part of the product that clamps onto whatever piece of furniture you're using it on. This being for a tablet and thus more weight My Hope Is that the product lasts. So far I'm quite happy with it and I can still use it with my cell phone or the tablet. I would kind of like to buy a second one, but I am hesitant until I have had this one longer. I did decide to go ahead and review it now because it is a phenomenal product. It's just how many years are you going to get out of it. I don't know that there's a better alternative as I haven't tried the fully metal versions that have the joints for lack of a better description. So this will be a five star review for me with a bit of an asterisk for the unknown

Tablet holder, as advertised.
As advertised. My husband falls asleep while reading his tablet, dropping it onto the floor. With this tablet holder he can read to his heart’s content and doze off as needed without the worry of dropping his tablet.

iPad Holder
I used to set up my iPad for a pet cam in my RV for the last five years and it held up really well. Time to get a new one though because the arm isn’t as stiff as it needs to be.

Good stand … unfortunate fatigue failure
The tablet stand served the function up, not only holding my small iPhone 13 mini, but also holding my iPad. I really appreciated that it could hold both.I found that the clamp was wide enough to fit many surfaces so that I could use it while sitting at the table or I could use it in the bed or I could use it in a chair. That flexibility was much appreciated.I found the metal rod to be stiff enough so that the vibration in the movement was not too much. It allowed me to put it in different positions successfully.I use this about once a week for the last six months and am fairly gentle with my equipment. Unfortunately, the metal flexible rod that connects to the phone and tablet attachment has broken. This seems to be a fatigue failure to me. Shifting the position of the phone back-and-forth has worn out the metal and caused it to break. I am confident that my shifting the physician on the phone was not very frequent. So this is a problem. The unit is no longer something that I can use.I have taken a look to see if there is any anyway in which I can repair this. I have not been able to come up with a successful solution. I have now reached out to the company in hope that a satisfactory answer and solution can be found. I do not wish to throw away something after only six months.

This thing is awesome and I love it! ...but not without shortcomings
I absolutely love this thing and use it all the time! It makes night-time browsing, watching, or reading SO much easier! I wouldn't recommend it for something that requires a lot of interaction, unless you'll be pairing it with some bluetooth device, as reaching up from bed will quickly tire your arms. The contraption does have some shortcomings, but for the most part they're fundamental issues of engineering something like this. I think the one thing that isn't, is the fact that they use a plastic screw-handle at the base, that according to many reviews is far too easily breakable, and I believe that (though I have not yet broken mine). If you take care not to over-tighten this part, I believe it can live on for a reasonable amount of time, but this is certainly the weakest aspect of the device. I imagine it was done to help keep the price at a reasonable level, especially considering how much metal must already be in it. But personally I'd pay the few bucks more for a sturdier, metal clasp at the base.Another common gripe about this device is that it will constantly slip downward from what you set it to. It's certainly easy to configure it in a way that this happens; that's not a fault of the device, but of the general problem of what you're trying to get it do (I imagine a $200+ device might solve it, but nothing this straight-forward of a solution). If you think of it like an engineer (or simply heed the advice of the accompanying paper), you'll twist it into a bit of an S shape to improve the stability of the form, or a spiral if you've the space. Yes, it'll still slip slightly at first, and yes that uses up some of the available reach, but it's a simple problem of gravity vs torque, and there's no way around the necessity.Yet another common review complaint is that the neck itself may break. Presumably yes, if you continually twist in a single direction, or constantly twist and untwist it, it will break down fairly quickly - after all, it's just a bundle of twisty metal threads, yes? For my part, I try to ensure as long a lifespan as possible by minimizing how often I reform the neck, leaving it in the shape it's in when I remove it so that I don't have to twist it back again the next time; and by first untwisting/bending it back to fully straight before reforming to a new shape. I imagine this is harder to avoid if you take it traveling a lot, however. With all these potential shortcomings, why is this still a five-star review? Because it just does such a great job of what it's made for! It's incredibly satisfying to use, and does exactly what I needed it for! And yes, perhaps it may break after half a year or something. Perhaps even only a quarter-year if I'm as unlucky as some of the other reviewers (though I do anticipate that the techniques above will save me from it being that soon, at least!). But so what? At this price?! I'd gladly consider a $5-10/mo "rental fee" for such a convenient (and now quite indispensable) device, so anything I get beyond a few months is bonus as far as I'm concerned. So if it breaks I'll just buy another one (in fact I may buy a spare in advance just in case). So now you know: yes, the bad reviews are for the most part correct. AND all the good reviews too. It's the best tool for the job (AFAIC), but it might possibly break. So what? It's cheap. And still totally worth it. That's my 2 cents!

Perfect for anywhere!
Easy to use just about anywhere except rounded surfaces but it's very stable when used with flat surfaces. My daughter uses it on her top bunk of her bunk beds since it's harder to see her TV from up there and she is constantly moving it and it hasn't broken. She likes how easy it is to adjust. She can use it with her phone or her tablet and it's very secure! Great value especially for the price!
