What impressed me most is the night video. That’s where a dash cam either proves itself or doesn’t. This one does a pretty good job, and the plate readability setting is not just some gimmick. The main thing buyers need to know is the newer RC18 rear camera is not waterproof. That is a big detail, and I think some people could easily miss it if they assume it’s like older rear cameras. With 3 channels, there’s more wiring and a little more patience involved. But that’s kind of the tradeoff for getting better coverage. Overall, I like it. It seems like the smaller they make these dash cams the harder is to read what's on them and what buttons to push. I put this up in my truck and left it in there and to my understanding they don't hardly use any juice at all while the truck is sitting. But to my surprise and frustration I came out the next day because I had a 9 Hour Rd. trip the day after and come to find out that it drained both my batteries in my diesel engine on my truck. There's nothing in the instructions that tells you that this thing has a way to be put on standby so that it doesn't drain your battery. I ripped it out of my truck and threw it in the trash and I'll never buy another one of these again. I had to call AAA and get my truck jumpstarted.

My wife requested a dash cam, so Is started researching. Vantrue is the brand I always search first so I found this newer model of their N4S. I purchased and it arrived quickly. The dashcam is just the right size. It doesn't create any visibility issues either in the front dash cam and the rear. This is important as I don't want visibility reduced. Vantrue includes everything you need for installation. It took perhaps about 15 minutes to install. The tool included made it easy to hide the cabling in the edges of the roof. Adhesive included is strong and I don't have any concern that it will come loose. The rear dashcam has been changed a bit but it works just as well. No concerns there. Once installed, everything is solid. The front mount allows for additional adjustment. The cabin camera has a wide angle, so all you have to do is adjust the vertical view. The dashcam works as it should. It turns on when you turn your car on. There are options to wire into the fuse panel if you want monitoring at all times, but for me it works. The unit powers on very quickly. It is very easy to setup. I do like the ability to connect to the cam via app (wifi) to quickly view footage without having to pull the sd card and run to a computer. Files are saved in three directories for each camera (front, cabin, rear). Although i haven't used it, they do have software that will show GPS data of the videos. The display is just the right size to have an approximate view of the cameras. I do like the sd card format reminder as regular formatting is a good idea. My wife likes the voice activated features as well. My wife has been using in her car for a week and has had no issues. I pulled some footage and the videos are clear and even videos from the evening are decent. The dashcam should kind of be invisible until you need it. I feel like we can trust it to do what it is supposed to do. If you are looking for a dependable dash cam that just works, this is the one for you. Easy install, easy use.
