If you can get past the price, it's a great DAC/Amp
Occasionally, I'll use my phone to listen to Qobuz with my headphones, but I try to avoid bluetooth due to the loss of quality and having to deal with another battery. Portable amplifiers the size of small cell phones have the same issue, and despite their smaller size can still be quite bulky. A device like the EPZ TP35 Pro solves a lot of these issues, albeit at a much higher price than a typical dongle. I've tried several similar dac/amp dongles that don't actually amplify the sound to a noticeable degree. This amp uses a rather small amount of phone battery to power itself and absolutely does increase the volume. The dac included is the CS43198, which I've got in a CD player as well, and it does an admirable job. The volume buttons control the sound output very well and can be combined with your phone's volume to dial in your preferred level. It's also very small. It has 3.5mm and 4.4mm balanced outputs for the audiophiles. I don't have access to anything at 32/384 that's advertised for this device, but it does work well with 24/192 and sounds absolutely great. I had no issues with compatibility with my phone- just plug the USB cable into the amp and your phone and you're good. It'll get a little warm, but I haven't worried about heat melting any sensitive components. The main issue when compared to a standard dongle/USB-C dac cable is obviously the price. This is many times more expensive than a lowly USB-C cable, but since it does actually amplify sound, it'll work better with more power hungry headphones like my HD 6XX. For IEMs, it's probably overkill. If you can get good use out of the amplification, this is a very good sounding way to power your headphones.

I'm not sure the EQ is all it's cracked up to be, but it's still a very good DAC
I've been listening to my music with IEMs for years- originally I needed a simple DAC to isolate my headphones from noisy low quality 3.5mm ports, but as I expanded my collection, I also began investing in higher quality dongle DACs. My first one, the Jade Audio KA3, has served me well for years. I saw the EPZ TP35 Pro and thought to myself it was time to upgrade- EQ that can be saved to the dongle and dedicated volume control without having to open an app for precise control sounded great to me. So, first off, how does it sound compared to my older DAC? Identical, really. They both have very low noise floors for exceptional clarity, which is the sign of a good, uncolored DAC that gives you the music as it was intended. Excellent. Physically, the TP35 Pro is also smaller than my older DAC in length and only a hair wider in width- it just looks better, I think. The coloring makes it easier to make out from a distance or in poorly lit rooms when you're hunting for your DAC before walking out the door. I'm very happy with the volume buttons, the control is very fine which is amazing for quiet environment listening, just chilling in my recliner with my eyes closed- I don't have to look at my phone's screen to make fine adjustments in an app like I did with the older KA3. As far as driving power and maximum volume, when using the 3.5mm port, the TP35 Pro sounds slightly quieter than the KA3, but when using the 4.4mm port the TP35 Pro gets oh so slightly louder- so it's not an upgrade over an old quality DAC when pushing voltages or VRMs, so I wouldn't suggest this for large planar headphones that need a lot of power to get all the dynamics they're capable of- but for IEMs? This covers most everything but the most demanding sets. As for the EQ, I found it to be... lackluster. I tried using my Salnotes Zero IEMS, a cheap set notorious for it's bright-neutral signature with tight but underwhelming bass as the canvas for my for my experimentation. I found that adjustments to higher frequencies made more impact than the lower ones. Just to try, I tried making a profile with ridiculous bass and a boost to the highest frequencies- only to find the DAC just cut everything- it just didn't cut the bass as much, but the difference wasn't what I was expecting. It certainly wasn't a 10dB boost to bass like I'd attempted to achieve. Okay, maybe it needed more power- so I hooked the cheap IEMs up to the 4.4mm port which should give it much more power, but even then I couldn't really force the Salnotes Zero very much outside of its natural signature. So you're not going to take cheap neutral headsets and turn them into entirely different experiences like a wild V-shape party IEM. What about more expensive sets? I tried the same bass cannon shenanigans with my Truthear x Crinacle Zero, a set with a dedicated dynamic driver for bass, but again found the DAC just cut all the frequencies across the board with just slightly less cut to the bass. Adjustments to the higher frequencies were again more impactful, but not so much I could force the headset far from its signature. Then I tried a different approach- Taking my 7Hertz Timeless AE and making them sound closer to a very similar set: the original Timeless. I cut the bass and the big 15khz spike in reasonable increments that should roughly approximate the original's sound. No dice, the change was barely perceptible. Even exaggerated changes didn't nudge it enough to turn an AE into an OG. The most I would attempt to use the EQ for would be attempting to tame sibilant IEMs or headphones by making some cuts in the 4 to 9khz ranges depending on the headset and soundtrack. As for the app itself, it's not on the Google Playstore and has to be sideloaded. It also requires you sign up for an account before you can make any EQ changes. There's apparently a browser app for EQ adjustment, but I couldn't get it to recognize the DAC to use it (using Google Chrome or Firefox). It's got some fun features, like uploading your profiles for others to use and allowing you try someone else's. It was mildly fun to try a bunch of different wildly peaky profiles, but none appreciably improved my music or headsets, it was just momentary novelty. Overall, I'm very happy with this DAC. It's smaller than what I had, it has dedicated volume control with fine control, it has as much power as I need for what I use and the color of the casing is fun and easier to see in a dimly lit environment. I only wish the EQ was more impactful in bass frequencies, it's not going to be a replacement for buying different headsets for different sound signatures, but that's okay, a truly good DAC should be flat and uncolored, and this has that.
