These screws are perfect for adding a little reinforcement to your hinges (jamb side) or strike plates. A big improvement over the little 3/4" screws included with most hinges and locksets, as long as you have some wood back there for them to grab. These have an edge cut into their points, which may help them "drill" into wood. I drove a few into relatively modern lumber, without pre-drilling, and the screws didn't strip, bend or break and the wood didn't split. However, even though I tried a few different phillips bits, they all seemed a little eager to cam out of the screws. ACR screwdriver bits may work better.

You get quite a few screws for 16 bucks. They seem to be high quality. They seem to be generic wood screws. Galvanized I believe. Easy to install, just drive them in with an impact driver. I have no complaints and can recommend this product. They functioned well in my projects. The size matches the description, 2 and 1/4 length.
