I have previously ordered products from Amazon before and have never written a review on any of them, but I feel compelled to write one for this product. Two years ago, my hair started shedding drastically to a point where my boyfriend and friends started noticing. I felt anxious and panicked because I was only 19 years of age. How could I be losing hair at this rate? I felt that if I didn't do anything about it, in the next four years I will be bald. That is how I honestly felt. So I have gone to dermatologists and they have tested my blood, nutrients, etc. to see if I was lacking in any of them, but the tests returned back normal. I seriously felt that I was going crazy because I know I was losing hair at a rapid rate, and on top of it, I felt that my dermatologists didn't take me seriously. They just brushed it off like I was being over-dramatic. However, one doctor did tell me about biotin and prescribed it to me, but I didn't buy it because I thought it was too expensive coming from their office. So I started researching a lot about biotin before I decided to invest in buying one. My first choice was to go GNC, but their's was pricey as well as the pills being way too big. So I went to Amazon and found this wonderful product! I found the pills really easy to swallow, and I have been taking one everyday for the past two months. Let me tell you, everyone I know has been talking about how beautiful my hair is! I don't shed as much anymore, and it's going back to the normal rate of shedding. My hair has grown more than 4 inches in the past two months. Another surprising thing about this product is that my eyelashes has grown longer as well! I have seen commercials about serums and whatnot for longer lashes (and I was never interested in them), but this was one of the positive side effects that I love. On top of longer lashes, my face is cleared and my skin is glowing. I cannot rave enough about this product. I tell everyone who compliments me about it! Ha-ha :)The first few weeks, I felt my hair growing-literally. It felt weird at first, but I knew it was because of Natrol. If you want the best results, you have to take it everyday.

I first bought this supplement about 6 years ago. I had been struggling with hair loss and weak nails at the time, and wanted to try biotin to help fix that. The hair loss turned out to be genetic so I had to go to the doctor for proper treatment (biotin doesn't create new hair follicles/revive dead follicles). But I still swear by this supplement! First off, my nails are incredibly strong and grow pretty quickly. No more bendy nails! I saw results for that pretty quickly, about 2 weeks of supplements shows a noticeable difference. My hair also grows out faster, and the growth doesn't stall out at mid back like it used to before I used this. The big reason I keep coming back to this brand is because it is affordable and reliable. I also tried other brands in the past 6 years, and there are definitely some duds available out there. This one consistently shows results, and I can tell pretty quickly how much it helps whenever I take a break and the bendy nails return

Ok so I was a little skeptical, but I tried this product out anyway. I have been using this for a week now and I noticed that my hair is breaking less which means the hair looks a little more full than it used to. I am not growing new hair, I am just having less breakage which means the hair that used to break is now finally able to grow and fill in the areas that did not look so thick. I did not have any bad acne from this nor did my face become any more clear for me. I also did not notice that my nails are breaking less often (I have always been able to grow long nails but lately my nails were breaking and splitting more so I had noticed a decrease in that as well.) Overall this has worked quite well for at least a week. I will update once I have used it a bit longer. Just wanted to say that I saw small improvements within the first full week of using this product. I think one should at least give it a month before leaving a final review which I will update then as well. (that is unless one has experienced negative reactions then I would not recommend continuing). update 1/2/2013 So here's an update, my hair is growing faster, still no acne problem, it did clear up my dandruff which I started having after having my daughter (not sure if the pregnancy caused it, but it just happened around that time) well anyways problem solved. Nails still break but not sure if it's because I'm harder on them or what they break less but still break none the less. they don't split they just break so i suppose they are stronger. My hair looks fuller, I have my hair up constantly so the ponytail holders tended to break my hair now I dont have as much breakage but that could also be that my hair grows faster too. SO bottom line, my hair is nicer and shiny and I am a happy customer! update 10/22/2013 So just giving another update wow time flies! anyways, hair still looking lovely and no acne yay! ok so my dandruff is little to non existent PRAISE THE LORD! I also noticed that while I was cutting/crushing garlic I cut my nail like really bad and it cut almost half way across my nail bed ouch! well needless to say nail grew out fast! I kid you not cant make this stuff up took only a week for it to grow back and it's not completely back to normal but no one knew I had done it! was it because of the biotin? who knows but all I can say is my nails grow faster than I first thought especially after I sliced half of it off! I was worried it was painful and skin below nail exposed it was incredibly painful (def not recommended) but good news the chunk I cut off was big enough I picked it out of the food and no I wasn't working in a restaurant I was cooking for my daughter who is now 6. so do I still recommend this yep!

I started taking these several months ago for hair loss, and nail breakage. I bought elsewhere for much more. I also started at this larger dose and didn't experience any breakouts of my skin. I do drink tons of water and tons of green tea a day. Perhaps this has something to do with my skin not breaking out? The first day I did get a serious headache but after the second dose the next day I guess my body became used to it. The only side effect I can currently see is that if I don't eat I get extremely shaky and it feels perhaps my blood sugar gets really low. So I have to carry around a snack with me everywhere I go - otherwise I feel faint. Very pleased with the results. My hair is filling out in the front where I lost some due to thyroid and pregnancy. And my nails keep their length and are tough and strong. If you are sensitive start on a lower dose and work your way up. UPDATE: One year later and I am still on biotin. I take it every other day now. I suffer from thyroid disease so I have issues with thinning hair. This keeps me on point with keeping my hair nice and thick. Again - it's important to stress that water is needed throughout the day. Otherwise you will start to form painful acne - its your bodies way of flushing out the excess.

I received this bottle about and week and a half ago and I can't even believe that I've noticed a difference after just 7 days. I've been taking one pill with breakfast everyday for he past 10 days and I first noticed my toenails getting super long already and then my fingernails as well, and today I swear my hair has grown maybe 1/4 inch in just about 10 days. I'm very excited (: Remember: you HAVE to drink a lot of water every day or you will not see the best results. Water hydrates your entire body and works with the biotin to start cell production. I'd say try to squeeze in at least 40 ounces every single day, no less than that. However, for some reason or another (I'm not a nutritionist so I don't exactly know why) a lot of people who have taken biotin supplements have broken out with either a few pimples here ad there or crazy cystic acne. Now, if you're someone who has or has had full on acne breakouts in the past, you might experience acne yet again or worse acne than you have now if you take this supplement or any other biotin supplement. Myself on the other hand have never really had problems with acne in the past, just a few pimples and blemishes here and there, so since I have been taking these supplements I've seen a few pimples popping up around my Chin, chest and nose, but it's nothing a little concealer can't solve. If you have experienced major breakouts while taking these supplements, I highly suggest that once you've reached your goal of long nails/hair or whatever you goal is, you stop taking them and give you skin a break. As of now, when my hair is pushed up front it stops in the middle of my chest but my goal is to get it down to my belly button. I plan on taking these Magic pills everyday until I reach my goal and since I will probably be purchasing another bottle, I will make another update to show the results. (

I ordered my first bottle of this stuff around 3 months ago. My trusty hairdresser cut my previously mid-back length hair a few inches below my chin, about three inches above my shoulders. I was mortified. I needed a faster way to grow my hair back, and came upon this product. I didn't have any real expectations, but after about a month of taking one tablet every day, I noticed my hair had grown a little more than halfway down my neck. I didn't think much of it. What felt like a short time later, probably 3 weeks more, my roommate commented that my hair was an "awkward length." I looked at it and noticed that it was about an inch above my shoulders. Amazing! A few weeks later, my hair was actually touching my shoulders! On a side note, my nails were actually growing and not chipping or flaking off like they usually did. So I continued to take my Biotin every night until a month ago, when I went out of the country. Before I even had time to stop and think about it, my hair was not only touching my shoulders but it was resting on them in a way that looked less "awkward" and more natural and flowy. I look at pictures from my trip and am shocked that it had grown to few inches below my shoulders. Presently, a month later, it is shiny and thick, not frizzy and wonderfully smooth and manageable. It is a little more oily and I find myself having to shampoo more, but it is worth it! I can't find a split end on my hair where previously by this long of a time without a trim, I had plenty. I just ordered another bottle today, because I want to continue my hair growth journey down to mid-back length. I can't believe not that long ago, I was agonizing over whether or not I'd be able to grow my hair past my shoulders again. I have a better perspective now, I really had no idea my hair could grow so fast! I can't say if this is a typical experience of most, but I will continue to take this product because I am very satisfied with the results, and for 8 bucks, you can't beat peace of mind!

Yes yes yes! I have used other brands of biotin for years now. I've bought from Walgreens, Costco, and the health store. Every time I use a new brand, I am never sure if I see results (which probably meant they weren't working.) This is the ONLY brand of biotin that has ever yielded NOTICEABLE results for me. HAIR: This is my primary reason for using biotin. A couple of years ago, a bad perm left my hair fried, dry, and thin from constant breakage. For two years, my hair did not grow. For every inch of growth, my hair broke even with breakage. Every time I brushed, I would see my floor littered with broken hair ends. Split ends everywhere. Am happy to report that I started noticing results after about two weeks of taking this biotin. It has been a month now and results are still going strong. I don't notice the already damaged parts of my hair being thicker, healthier or shinier, but my hair IS growing faster, so the damaged parts are growing out and new healthier shinier growth is starting to take over. I've also noticed a lot of new growth at the scalp. The baby hairs near my bangs used to be nothing -- now they're about two inches long. I have never seen my baby hairs grow long before. Curious to see how that turns out. SKIN: Skin used to be dry and uneven all over face and body, probably due to me always being a bit dehydrated and not having the best diet. Took the biotin, not expecting to see or even notice results, but was shocked when, two weeks later, I began to notice my skin being incredibly soft. Like I said, I wasn't expecting or trying to notice results, so for me to notice it, best believe the results were DRAMATIC. It's been one month now and my skin is BABY SOFT. I honestly don't remember the last time my skin was so soft and smooth. Sometimes I catch myself caressing my own body, like a weirdo because my skin feels so good to the touch. My complexion has also become milky and smooth. I used to have dry patches around my armpits and near the corners of my mouth. No more. My skin is currently pale and even-toned. I don't need foundation as often, and when I do wear makeup, it applies smoother and blends better. I honestly wasn't expecting skin benefits from this product. In the past, I have tried lotions, serums, night creams and masks. I have tried to drink more water and blend nutritious smoothies. Since I have never seen any result from those, I had assumed nothing can be done to better my skin. Actually, I didn't think my skin was too terrible to begin with. Now, I see that I had a lot of room for improvement. I wasn't expecting skin benefits, but this biotin turned out to be the youth code for my skin. I can't be more grateful to this biotin for giving me unexpected results. NAILS: Honestly don't notice too much improvement here. I wear acrylics so I pretty much never see my real nails. They may have been growing faster, but I have not noticed because I'm not trying to pay attention. Perhaps I will start taking note and recoding the results. All in all, I am very satisfied with this product. I have recommended this product to my friends, and would recommend it to anyone. Of the four brands of biotin I have tried, this is the only one that works for me, and it works wonders. So glad I came across it. Will update review as time goes on.

THE GOOD: I got this product and took it for almost three months. My nails looked like a hand model's nails; they grew strong, shiny and long. My hair, growing out from a pixie, started growing like crazy. The texture improved a bit, going from thin and a bit dry to slightly thicker and noticeably softer. Less hair would come out while brushing. Again noticeably less hair falling out. Sounds like a dream product, right? For some people it may be. For me... it was not. THE BAD: I have oily skin. Which is great in some ways, because I have fewer wrinkles with almost no effort; but, at that time of the month I often get a small breakout. It's a trade-off I guess. Well, after taking the Biotin that first month, my breakout lasted longer. Then I had a mid-month breakout. Then I noticed my skin was barely getting over one zit before I got three more. It was... bad. My skin became oily in a much more viscous way. It would be oily even right after cleansing and it was uncontrollable. This was one of those things where you don't notice how it's going downhill until you are at the bottom going, "What happened?!". So, the third month rolled around. I had at least a dozen pimples at once, with my skin oily like whale blubber and I think I sort of wanted to die. I felt like a teenager and I assumed this skin issue was from all the stress I had been undergoing recently, but also suddenly I thought, "I wonder if it's the Biotin?" and Googled it. All I had to do was input "Does Biotin" and the first thing on the list was "Does Biotin cause Acne?". Answer: Yep. I stopped taking the Biotin immediately. I drank a lot of water, as the chemical is water-soluble, and within three days my skin went from high school nightmare-zone to almost completely clear. Day one, after I discontinued use, my skin stopped being super-oily. Day two, all my pimples shrank significantly and skin became my normal oiliness. Day three, again, almost completely clear. It was like night and day. Bottom line: This product does what you expect it to do, but it may be a case of "and then some!" Be careful to watch for signs of acne, particularly if you have naturally oily and/or acne-prone skin. Be sure to discontinue use and drink a bunch of water if the Biotin causes such issues. I wish I could take this product, for it provided great results with my nails and hair, but sadly that is not possible. Maybe at some point I will try a lower dosage, or Biotin as a blended supplement with other healthy nutrients, but I admit the extreme negative side effects I experienced make me a bit leery to go there. I have used Natrol for several years. Without it, my hair is very fine..but with a daily tablet I have far less hair fall. My hair is fuller and super healthy. When starting out it takes a few weeks to kick in but once it does it makes a big difference.
