The glasses are very visual appealing and well made. The packaging does not have any information about what the glasses are finished in. There is obviously some sort of varnish or clear paint on the glasses and it makes me wonder if they are safe to drink from. Also, I'm not sure if the charred part inside the glass will impart any flavor into the bourbon if it is painted over.

These whiskey glasses come in an attractive package, making them suitable for gifting. They are well crafted without evidence of a lacquer coat that could contaminate the whiskey. They seem well sanded and polished to a satin sheen. They are comfortable in my hand, with no rough spots in the wood. The glasses have level bottoms and don't wobble. They seem to be of very good quality. The glasses are attractive, but I consider them to be a bit of a novelty that would make an attractive display. While one can certainly drink whiskey from them, They won't satisfy the whiskey connoisseur who enjoys looking at the color character of whiskey and bourbon. Even so, they make a thoughtful gift.
