I enjoyed this easy-to-read introductory book, in which John Tsang takes us on a tour of the history, the buildings, and the operations of the “Mother of Parliaments” (though the book points out that the original quote did not in fact refer strictly to the UK parliament!). John builds on his experience as a guide for visitors to the Palace of Westminster to accompany us through space and time, and explains some of the quirky oddities of the practices and vocabulary at the centre of UK politics.

Full of interesting facts about Parliament and the Palace of Westminster. This book is a whistle stop tour of the goings-on within the Houses of Parliament. Traditions are explained and terms expounded. I now understand the meaning of the term 'a three-line whip'. An enjoyable read.
