If I lose power to my home, is this device inoperable? Traditional landlines still work without power, is that not the case with this?

Thank you for reaching out, the OBi200 works through your Internet Service connection and AC Power, if you lose power you will not have internet access and the OBi device will not have power, therefore, the OBi device will not work. Traditional landlines (POTS) worked because there was power through the copper cable, which allowed it to continue working. Hello! The OBi200 unit only works with Google Voice, Google Voice is a free service that allows you to make calls in the united states. If making international calls with Google Voice: *Inside the U.S. : If you have a U.S. phone number and call an international phone number, you'll be charged international rates. *Outside the U.S. : International calls use minutes from your mobile phone plan, and your cell phone company might charge you extra roaming fees if you are making a call from outside of the U.S. To make calls from outside the U.S. without using roaming service, we recommend you to use Wi-Fi with classic Hangouts.
