Do these have the crinkle paper in them? i've checked the zippypaws website and it just says there are squeakers but i just want to double check.

They have squeakers, not crinkle paper. I bought the small size as a first toy for my toy poodle puppy. She is very mouthy and a heavy chewy. It has been four months of daily play and these have stood the test of time. Mine have two squeakers in each toy.

what size is good for a miniature schnauzer (16 lbs)?

Our dog is 20 lbs and he does great with this size

what is the packaging when these arrive? can they be given as 3 gifts or come as 1 packaged item?

These three come in one package, but can easily be separated and be given as three gifts. That is what I did, but it was to family member's dogs, who did not care about packaging....if you want to give it with instructions, you might have to be "inventive".
