additional batteries make work more effective - less down time waiting for battery to charge
If you have a reciprocating saw, you need at least 3 batteries in order to work effectively - one on the saw working, one fully charged ready to go, and one in the charger charging - and rotate them like that.

Appear to be Makita batteries
Does what it says on the tin. I have examined them carefully, and they seem to be genuine Makita batteries. If not, they are VERY good copies.
