Lovely little books for youngsters learning phonics
These books are so cute. I'm glad I wasn't put off by the negative reviews. They are small but that just adds to their charm. Bought for 3 year olds birthday, she loves Blaze and she is learning her alphabet and these are great. They have about 6 pages in each book so if you are expecting an epic bedtime story these aren't the books for you. My daughter loves them.

so I thought they might not be that great and he might not be that interested in them
I bought these for my Blaze obsessed 3 year old. When they arrived, they are tiny, so I thought they might not be that great and he might not be that interested in them. How wrong was I? He absolutely loves them, and I have to read them to him constantly. He likes dinky little toys/figures anyway, so I guess having tiny Blaze books was just his idea of heaven!! :-) Great for a new reader as the wording, etc. is very basic/simple, but perfect for him at his age and they are short, so ideal for short attention spans. Similar stories to the TV episodes which is also great, so he can relate to them. Loves them so much, we have to prise them off him on the way to nursery as he doesn't want to put them down (which results in the inevitable toddler tantrum!!). Highly recommended for very young Blaze fans (I secretly love Blaze too mind you!)

Not really phonics, but ok short stories once reading
These aren’t written in the style I would expect from a beginners phonics book. It’s certainly too hard for just deciding or sounding out words. If your child is a good reader, maybe suitable for end of reception year / start of year 2 if in England.

Smaller than anticipated but a better product all round
So like other reviews I thought these books would be bigger. However I'm not disappointed in the slightest. They are the perfect size for a three year old just starting to learn to read basic words. Sentences are very short and easy language. Fantastic first readers. They are thin paper books a few pages long. Not much to them really so maybe they are a little overpriced at £9 for the box. I haven't given them to my son yet as they are a gift but I'm certain he will love them.

Not worth price
Very small books , very thin (about 4 or 5 pages ) . The string binding on spines isn’t very neat and has bits sticking out . Feel very flimsy and box arrived damaged
