Connects extremely easy via the app. Went offline once, had to restart internet and no trouble sense. Best priced, reliable water leak detector on the market. Have multiple xsense items and they all work great together. Long battery life and easy to move (no mounting required). Place on ground near any water source that may leak. No complaints at all!

So this was useless. It couldn’t complete the wifi test despite a strong signal. Placed a signal booster literally 2’ away and it completed the wifi test but never sent alerts via the app. We dribbled water on the floor to test it. It audibly alerted perfectly but no phone alerts. Ever. In less than 12 hours from being opened and installed, it started the low battery chirp (battery was full health according to the app opening). Again, no phone alert despite it being set to alert for low battery as weak as water detection. Seriously useless.

I had a moderately serious water leak in my basement last summer that I still don't know where came from. I bought one of those stand alone water alarms as a cheap emergency solution to alert me if it happened again but my ultimate goal was to build a system of wifi connected water alarms throughout my house. Given that history, I jumped at the chance to review this X-Sense water alarm. I used the QR code in the instructions to download the app from the Google store. It downloaded, set up, and paired easily with the device. I then installed the leak detector next to my pressure tank and sewer lift station where the mystery leak originated. This all went smoothly so I moved on to the testing phase. It will alarm with little more than a tablespoon of water either poured directly on top of the device, or poured so that it runs underneath (I tested both). It sounded immediately and loudly. I would say it's moderately loud. Not as loud or sustained as the other water alarm I have, but sufficiently loud that I would hear it upstairs through a shut door. I like that I can silence the alarm with the button on the bottom and it also doesn't come back on when you dry up the water. I did notice that it seems to need about 20-30 seconds of alarm to trigger the app to alert. I received an email but no app alert the first couple of times I tested it. I only received an app alert when I let it alarm for 30 seconds or so. I very much appreciate the dual email and app alerts and will leave both on. I also really like the low temperature feature. Something truly catastrophic would have to happen for my basement to get to 39 degrees, but it gives peace of mind for installation in other areas of my house. I am very pleased with this water alarm and will definitely be purchasing the three pack to add more alarms. My only issue is that they sent me an alarm with an almost dead battery. I have knocked off one star because it's very annoying to have to immediately purchase an expensive battery for a brand new product. Otherwise, I am quite happy and would highly recommend this item. It's a good price for the peace of mind, and it strikes me as a high quality product from a reputable brand that will last a long time.

One of these going off literally saved my basement. Water leak sensor alerted me to a failing water heater. Saved me thousands in water damage and repairs. Worth every penny. Have in ever bathroom, sink, laundry and basement now. A+

Not what I expected. Only two of the three units works. The third unit had a dead battery when it arrived. I ordered new batteries, and installed one the next day. That third unit will not connect to WiFi, and does not work. Very poor quality control. The other two units works, but it was much harder and time consuming to get them to connect to WiFi. It took about 6 tries each before they connected.

Took a bit to synchronize with wifi.

One of the three chirped continually as soon as I installed it. It came with a dead, hard-to-find battery. Getting a replacement would be hard since I'd only need one battery, but Amazon only sells them in sets of six which cost more than the sensor itself. Also takes a special tool to get into the device. Instead of a promised five- year battery life, one of the three is useless. Update: A second device now shows a dead battery. That means I paid for three and got one. So one star.

Well made product, easy to setup.

Battery included, but provided with no charge. I am pretty sure that this is actually a used, returned product. Box was opened and battery is dead. I can of course go get a new one, but when buying a new product these little speed bumps are very inconvenient.
