Good quality SS Mesh
Stainless steel mesh appears well made, and is easy to mold into certain shape. I hope it will last a while in the water.

Peace of Mind Below the Surface
I chose this 304 stainless steel hardware cloth mainly for one reason: peace of mind. Knowing itโs stainless steel makes a real difference compared to galvanized wire. I donโt have to second-guess whatโs happening underground or worry about lead or other coatings slowly leaching into the soil over time. That alone already makes it feel like the right choice. Functionally, though, everything else feels pretty much the same as standard hardware cloth. The stiffness, the weave, and how it cuts and installs didnโt surprise me in either direction. It does the job exactly as expectedโno more, no less. Where Iโm still reserving judgment is long-term performance. Durability and discoloration are the big questions, and those canโt be answered right away. Iโll need to watch how it holds up over the next few months, especially with exposure to moisture and soil contact. Overall, this isnโt about flashy improvementsโitโs about confidence. If youโre prioritizing soil safety and long-term reliability, 304 stainless steel feels like a solid upgrade, even if the day-to-day experience is otherwise the same.

As described, small roll
Great for small precise crafts like a chick brooder. This works as expected and keeps them all safe from the other animals!

Strong material
I ordered this for my upcoming gardening season, so I can't set it up to use at this time, but I can tell you what I am currently doing to get ready for planting season. This stainless steel wire mesh roll came rolled up really tight, nice and strong. I wanted to set up some fence like areas to protect my raised bed gardens against my daughter's dog and the two dogs behind our house. We have chain link fences there, but one of the dogs next door got their head under the bottom of the fence. I have added some support of the fence with this item and wood. This item will be attached to wood, and set up so the dogs will not be able toget through the fence. I'm also going to build some to go in front of my raised beds to keep my daughter's dog from getting to the fence by running into my garden in this area. I'm starting to set these up with wood. This mesh roll is nice and strong. It's made well, it seems like it will be nice and strong, and able to stand up against the dogs while protecting the garden. I wish I could set these up to show everyone, including me, how this will look and how it will be set up in the garden. At this moment I can tell you that the quality of this product is great. It is strong and will work well with the wood to protect the garden while protecting the dogs by keeping them away from each other. I will update when I have it all set up and prepared to do the job that I determined it can.

So many uses yet zero upkeep or maintenance required
The hardware cloth arrived rolled up and well wrapped so it was in really good condition. It is good quality stainless steel hardware cloth with 1/2" mesh, with width and length exactly as advertised. I'm very happy with the quality, quantity and value of this hardware cloth. The great thing about stainless steel hardware cloth is that exposure to the weather, contact with animal food products or waste, even ground contact or partially being buried, none of that matters and none of it will bother the stainless steel in the least. I had some areas around the foundation of my chicken coop and run that rats or mice had managed to chew though the pressure treated wood to find a way in and get into the chicken's food I needed something with a small enough mesh to keep mice out and it had to survive ground contact, so this hardware cloth fit the bill perfectly. Now my chicken run is nicely closed to varmints again. I also use stainless hardware cloth to build cages over the plumbing vents on my roof. I don't know what it is with squirrels but they will chew on lead vent covers until they eventually create holes in them and cause leaks. So I build cages to keep them from destroying the vent wraps. Using stainless steel hardware cloth means I don't ever have to worry about those vents again because the stainless steel hardware cloth won't need maintenance and those cages will likely outlive the house. It's also very easy to use and install because you don't need to do anything special, no prep work, no painting, no anything yet it won't rust or corrode, ever. The only challenge is finding hardware cloth that is well made, with a thick enough gauge stainless steel wire to stand up to your needs and this hardware cloth stood up to that challenge and it met my needs perfectly. So I'm very satisfied with this hardware cloth. I'm very happy with the quality and I do recommend it.

19.75 feet not the stated 20 feet
The stated 23 gauge thickness, 20 foot wide stainless steel hardware cloth was not 20 feet but 19.75 feet. I needed a minimum of 20 feet for my project, therefore the hardware cloth is not value added for the expense. In addition, the wires go past the end of the border of the roll and stick out. The ends are not flush to the side borders which is not typical of a hardware cloth roll. Stainless steel tends to be sturdy and durable. Hardware cloth can be used for garden beds, inside pots, and as fencing or blocking off other holes or crevice areas to keep rodents out making it versatile. Using tin snips cuts the cloth to be able to work with it. As is typical of hardware cloth it is not the easiest to use. The roll has to be straightened by bending it backwards slightly and to be able to use it, needle nose pliers can aid in bending it.
