This is a very cool little device! Works great when you are backpacking and have to travel light (just pack some tender). I'd say it's meant more for that than for a apocalyptic, survival situation since it has to be plugged in to charge or you'll need some type of hand crank generator.

White the electric flame is decent though not perfect i think this is a neat little gadget for my bag Can fit about the end of a cigarette between the arc.

I bought this lighter in November 2018. When I received it, I charged it and it immediately worked and I thought it was a cool little tool. In the 2.5 years since, it's proven not to be. It went from sparking (on the lighter end) and shining (on the flashlight end) after that first charge to being put away for a couple months and then never again sparking or shining. I've tried to charge and use it periodically since then, most recently today. Today, the red charging light came on while I plugged it in, but the lighter just got warm / hot to the touch and never even pretended to work. Same as it's done every time since that first. This is a piece of junk novelty. I wouldn't rely on this thing to light a candle in my house or a fire in my backyard, let alone go camping with it or rely on it in an emergency. Do yourself a favor: buy a bunch of matches instead.

So far I’ve only used this product playing around and testing it. It does light just about anything fairly easily. Paper, cotton balls, and even some tinder like the paratinder will literally light in a split second. You can tap a piece of paper with the arc and you have fire. The light works very well and in an emergency it’ll be better than not having anything. With it being so small you could easily throw it in a backpack for emergencies. Now if you plan on carrying this everyday as an edc light I would suggest removing the paratinder because that does add some bulk to it. Without the Paracord it is very compact. Overall it’s a cool little product that could come in handy. If I experience any problems with the battery or if it stops working I’ll update this review.

Used it snow camping. Was able to start a fire, but it's less practical than just a Ferro rod. The flashlight is nice and bright but again not practical because it needs to be charged.

Husband loves it. It’s a fun tool he shows off often. Lighter also has a flashlight too. Lights candles with ease.

It worked fine until I accidentally touched the lighter part and it went out, the 10 second off and on was annoying than useful

I have been looking for a good flashlight for my Edc for a while now but I was having a hard time lugging an awkward cylindrical type flashlight around. Found this in a random video and figured Im still used to carrying a lighter around daily as an ex smoker for 10+ years so having this on me all the time would just feel natural. I was right and I Love it! Overall. Im not a smoker or survivalist so I find myself using the flashlight more than anything. Holds a charge for a good week or 2 before I feel the need to plug it in. The light is bright and has a nice spread. The lighter aspect WILL ignite nearly any tinder instantly. No regrets on this purchase. If UST ever makes a V.2 I would like to see USB-C for faster charge, an all Black color variant and a build in match striker or ferro rod maybe for emergencies and the battery is depleted.

I was in search of a reliable lighter for my camping trips and was led to believe that the UST USB Rechargeable Tekfire Lighter would be a suitable choice, especially given its high ratings. However, my experience has been deeply disappointing. The lighter barely produces sparks and fails to ignite a fire effectively, which is a critical flaw for a tool meant for outdoor survival. Additionally, the product title misleadingly boasts an LED light feature, which is nonexistent. To add to the inconvenience, the battery life is abysmally short, depleting within minutes after a full charge. This product did not meet my expectations and I cannot recommend it for any serious outdoor enthusiast.
