I had never heard of the author before, but the book description and glowing reviews made me want to give it a try. I'm so glad I did! It definitely deserves all the praise it gets. The story grabbed me from the first page, and it was impossible to put down. In fact, I read it twice in the same weekend, and I enjoyed it just as much the second time around. I thought the story would be some kind of a light YA romance, but it turned out to be a lot more. I enjoyed everything about it, but what I loved the most was: - The main character, Hadley, and her bravery and strong determination to save her classmate Archerโs life at all costs, for no reason other than because it was the right thing to do. Her selflessness, kindness and dedication to those she cares about were inspiring. I also loved her sense of humor and how unassuming and humble she was. - Archer Morales. The story revolves around him, yet we get to know him not by his words, but by his actions. He didnโt open up to others easily, yet despite his tough exterior and often rude attitude towards Hadley, he comes across as extremely vulnerable and tender hearted, and that made him incredibly appealing. It was also funny to see him trying to resist Hadleyโs charms and slowly come out of his hard shell. - Death. You canโt help but to be sympathetic towards him despite everything. - Archerโs family. All the members of his large, loving family were interesting characters on their own. - How the faith of the characters was portrayed respectfully rather than being ignored or mocked. - The storyโs main idea of how a little kindness towards somebody can really make a difference in that personโs life. Definitely canโt go wrong with this story, I only wish it had been a lot longer, I didnโt want it to finish. :) Review: LOVED IT! - I had originally read this book on Wattpad a few years back and had fallen in love with it. I read it quite a few times on there before I realized it was now published! I bought it right away and read it quickly! It does have some differences here and there such as the 1 sister in the Wattpad version turned into, if I remember correctly, triplets in the physical book. There were some other parts here and there that were different as well. Iโd love to have both versions in physical copies. Other than that, you are absolutely one of my favorite authors! This book is just so lovely and refreshing! I did buy this book a little while back and completely forgot to write a review. I definitely give it a 5/5! I look forward to buying future books as well! Please read
I was obsessed with this book on Wattpad. I was disappointed that the book was different than the book I read online but still the dishwasher scene killed me every time. Great story very original and refreshing, I still think about it.

An Enjoyable Read
The narrator, a privileged girl in a private school in NYC makes a deal with Death to rewrite the suicide of a classmate, by going back in time 27 days and altering his future. How getting to know Archer changes not only his life, but hers as well, makes an entertaining YA story. Told from the perspective of a 16 year old, the observations are understandably superficial. It should appeal to readers of the same age and level of maturity.

A delightful and thought-provoking debut!
In 27 Days follows Hadley Jamison as she meets Death after a classmate commits suicide. Death offers her a deal to send her back in time 27 days to save his life - but little does Hadley know that messing with the past isn't as easy as Death makes it seem. Now she must decide if she's willing to risk everything - even her life - to keep Archer safe. First of all, I adore the romance in this book. It's subtle and believable, and Archer Morales is now one of my #1 all-time book boyfriends. He's this glorious mix of sarcastic and grumpy and awkward and swoonworthy ... (sigh) Hadley is also a very realistic heroine, in that she has doubts and fears and generally doesn't know how to handle everything after her deal with Death. Which, honestly, is how I'd probably be in her shoes. AND I love the twists and turns throughout the book: events don't always turn out the way you expect, and it's awesome to see how the characters react to different (and unusual) stimuli. Plus, this book has one of the HOTTEST almost-kiss scenes I've ever read. *fans herself* Talk about romantic tension! Highly recommended for fans of YA contemporary, especially those who want just a dollop of paranormal thrown in. :)

Fantastic Book!!
This is definitely one of my favorite books! I read it the first time as a teenager and I read it again as a twenty-five year old woman and it STILL hits! My understanding is obviously different now than it was then, but it is still a great read. The author impressed me greatly.

Deserving read.
The publisher presents this a story of redemption, first love, and the strength it takes to change the future. And, how! What a delight. I was a little concerned the story would make light of suicide or depict it in a manner that over-simplifies the subject. Offered an opportunity to change the past, Hadley jumps at the chance. While on the surface, it would appear that Hadley has it all, by the end of the story, it is evident that she needs as much saving as Archer. I was pleased that Alison Gervais went several layers down in her story. Hadley needs familial love; โI hadnโt known it was possible to miss something youโd never had.โ Archer needs someone to lighten his brooding. Hadley isnโt the obvious choice; she is no Pollyanna. But, her ability to go into the gloom and then come back is just what Archer needs: โWhen I was old enough to understand that death was inevitable, I wanted it to rain the day I died. It seemed symbolic somehow, washing away anything bad and dark about life and beginning anew.โ Their relationship is not easy. โAnd this was the thing about words. Said in the wrong place at the wrong time, even if they were full of doubt, words had a habit of sticking around for a long time.โ The obstacles thrown at Hadley are quite extreme. The emphasis on life balances and consequences is loud and clear. I would recommend this book to both the YA set and anyone who has experienced loss. Deserving read.

I love this book!
I originally read this on wattpad when it first came out. Truthfully, I think about it often even years later. It is still one of my favorite books. The angst is real and I loved reading Archer and Hadley get to know each other. This is a smut free book and would be great for any teenager wanting a romance book!
