Poor shipping my only problem
The bike is great. Its easy to use and runs quietly. HOWEVER, the box it came in is a real piece of work. It was not adequately packed to avoid damage. It appeared that somewhere along the line someone ran a forklift near the bottom of the box, damaging the plastic bike frame and bending some of the metal parts. We called Amazon to figure out what to do, and the next day we assembled the bike. The bike functions but has exterior damage that will prevent us from selling it later to someone else. If only the bike company had packed this bike better. The Styrofoam packing was thin and completely broken apart inside the box. I've never seen a heavy box so poorly packed from the manufacturer. But I do like the bike and so rated the bike as it functions and not on our shipping adventure. If you order this bike, be prepared for shipping damage. The bike weighs nearly 100 pounds. I've read many reviews here that indicate that others have also had damaged boxes and bike parts. Also, the instructions included said to not put it on carpet. So think ahead of time where your bike needs to go for use. The bike is heavy and hot easy to move later on.

Good Bike. Poorly Packaged.
Let me start by saying that I think this is a quality recumbent bike for the price. It seems to be well engineered and well built. Assembly was straight forward and took about one hour to assemble. After assembly, I rode the bike for 30 minutes and got a vigorous work-out. The controls are intuitive and easy to use. Overall, I was satisfied with the bikeโs performance. Where I was disappointed by the bike was in its packaging. Upon opening the box, which showed no external damage, I found some damaged parts (see photos). While one plastic shield piece was damaged, it did not affect the performance of the bike. However, the base of the metal neck of the bike was bent to an extent that I could not get the upper neck mounted. Fortunately, I had some metal working tools available that allowed me to get the parts connected. Overall I rated the bike a 4 star out of 5.

packaging
The packaging was all damaged and some areas were open. The cover for some parts were damaged and I tried to fix it. Very poor packaging. I assembled the entire bicycle with the help of a worker that cost me $ 120.00 After the assembly we found that that the bike seat doesn't go up and down. Is moving only diagonally on the rail. So you cannot adjust the height. The bike is already assembled, so let me know what we can do. My wife tried to sit on the bike and we found out that the seat doesn't go up and down. Also the distance between the seat and the pedals is very long and she cannot pedal correctly. Overall is a piece of junk. Don't sell it . Amazon is a big company and has a reputation to defend. Let me know how we can return it. I spent already half a day to assemble it with another helper. Very difficult to assemble. Better to pay some professional to assembly it.

The box is labelled not to drop!
Xterra does not use enough Styrofoam to secure contents. Styrofoam is also very weak and breaks to pieces in shipping. This resulted in multiple pieces being bent, dented and scratched. The cardboard box is also not rigid enough to endure shipping process. I was able to bend strap with aid of a Vise-Grip pliers and 12" adjustable wrench. I secured that screw last and all was okay. The bike seems to operate good. The pedal straps do not secure tightly and will pop off easily. The seat tends to wiggle while you are pedaling. This is due to frame being slightly oversize which will cause seat frame to shift during pedaling. Purchased bike for physical therapy after total knee replacement. It is easy to get on and off. I have not tried any of different programs or functions since I can only just pedal bike in manual low range.

As advertised
I received the recumbent bike late Saturday and put it together Sunday afternoon. I have to say that I could use as many calories as riding the bike by simply putting it together and taking apart and putting it together again. Though the directions were pretty straightforward, I did work up a pretty good sweat. Being that the bike is sturdy, the individual pieces are fairly heavy. It took me roughly 2 hours to put the bike together by myself, but I admit that I did not get in a big hurry. A couple of the directions were a bit confusing, but dealt mainly with cosmetic items and I really didn't care about that anyway. I used the bike for the first time last night and it operated well. The computer is not as intuitive as I might have liked, but it isn't rocket science either. I'm sure I will learn more about it in future sessions. All in all, this is a sturdy well-made bike at a good price point.

Assembly easy - pulse monitor off by > 20%
The unit was easy to assemble and is easy to use. The seat is comfortable for 45 minute workouts. The programs available are varied enough to keep your workout from being boring. Pulse recovery feature lets you analyze your cooldown, but needs to be able to do more than a 1-minute cooldown. The pulse monitor is simply not accurate. It varies from my Apple watch (which is accurate when compared to hospital telemetry system) by more than 20% at times. It also frequently loses the signal even when I'm properly gripping the handles. It will start up again a few moments later with no change. I also noticed that only when you grip BOTH handles will the pulse monitor attempt to work. NOW: let's also buffer this comment. Even on cardio equipment at a gym or at a hospital's rehab unit, grip-type pulse monitors are notorious for both of these problems.

Great Bike!!
This bike really works great if shipped in good condition. The package box looked terrible for 1st delivery and the parts were damaged. Contacted Amazon customer and got great support to return the item. 2nd one was shipped in relatively good condition. Assembly process is a little bit difficult for wiring and heavy parts but overall it is okay. It is easy to adjust the seat position and the working intensity. The small console controls the training courses bases on your demand. The bike could also measure the body fat ratio and heart beat rate correctly. I will recommend my friend to buy this.

Spend the extra on something better
Definitely not a sturdy machine. The overall construction feels extremely flimsy. Wasn't super hard to put together but some of the parts weren't numbered. Took about 2.5 hours to unbox and put together. The seat isn't really comfortable. It's also bent because the left side of the sweat is lower than the right side. The assembly itself wiggles while you are riding. It is not very snug on the rail. In the video you can see how the column that the seat attaches to is swaying. My wife is WAY under the weight limit. The pedals are small and feel cheap. When pedaling it feels like they are loose, flexing up and down. They are tight so I'm not sure what's going on. The column that the handlebars and computer attaches to is also not stable. Lots of wiggling. One plus is the screen is very bright. In summation, if you weigh more than 160 I'd be afraid to ride this because it just feels cheap and flimsy. I've reached out to the company for support but imagine I will be returning this. Ugh...
