The Best Orally-Ingested Glutathione Supplement On The Market
I have been using this supplement for many months now and I am able to report the following: Pure Glutathione Gold is the best orally-ingested glutathione supplement on the market. Personal research into nutritional supplement products is very important, but it is also very time consuming so I’ll try to distill the pertinent information down to what matters most. Glutathione is arguably the most important nutritional supplement available. It is known as ‘the master antioxidant’ for good reason. I’ve read many medical journal articles about glutathione and also a few recently published books dealing extensively with this antioxidant, and I have seen first-hand how excited medical professionals have become by what they continue to discover. This is true mainly because the effects of glutathione deficiency can be utterly ruinous (even deadly) to our biology, and adequate supplementation of glutathione goes a very long way to reversing the consequences (up to and including heart attack and stroke) of chronic glutathione deficiency. The typical Western diet leaves most of us with dangerously inadequate glutathione levels. But of equal concern are the many chemicals we regularly consume; all artificial sweeteners for example, and over-the-counter pain-relief medications, are utterly destructive of glutathione. Aspirin, ibuprofen (Advil) and acetaminophen (Tylenol) all wreak havoc on our biological ability to produce and/or absorb glutathione. To compensate for negative effects of this sort, it is crucial that we consume adequate glutathione-rich foods, but it is just as important to fortify diet with a high-quality nutritional supplement and S-Acetyl Glutathione Gold is the best of its kind on the market. Here’s where a bit of effective research really pays off. The glutathione molecule is fragile and when taken orally in nutritional supplement form, it is almost completely destroyed by gastric acid before it can be absorbed and put to good use. In order to counteract this negative effect, oral glutathione products must include a delivery system which protects the molecule from gastric acid. At present there are really only two viable protection methods. One method is liposomal encapsulation, which does protect orally-ingested glutathione, but products formulated with this method must be taken on an empty stomach in order to yield their best positive effect. Additionally, liposomes are nutrients (fats) which can be energizing and therefore should not be ingested right before bedtime. So liposomal glutathione comes with restrictions (which the product developers may or may not have bothered to inform their customers about). With acetylated glutathione however, the other of the two viable protection methods, no such restrictions are necessary. The acetylation process protects the supplement upon ingestion until it can be absorbed intracellularly and delivered to where it is needed most. An alternative to orally-ingested glutathione is intravenous supplementation, which is very effective indeed. It is also very expensive, licensed administration clinics are few-and-far-between, and the evidence I have seen indicates that acetylated glutathione taken orally is just as effective as IV-administered glutathione at a fraction of the cost. But perhaps most importantly, ANY orally-ingested glutathione which is neither liposomally encapsulated nor acetylated is a waste of money because the product is left entirely unprotected from gastric acid. Nevertheless, the majority of glutathione products on the market are of this unprotected and virtually useless form. Pure Glutathione Gold is of the acetylated form, which I have found to be the superior form for all orally-ingested supplementation. Moreover, the developers of this particular product have gone to the trouble of patenting their protection and delivery system – a point which should not be overlooked. Pure Glutathione Gold is the best glutathione supplement on the market. This is the first product review I’ve ever written and Pure Glutathione Gold is the only glutathione product I will recommend to all of my friends and family.

Made a Huge Difference
Sorry for the long write up, I don’t normally do reviews but it is important to compare apples with apples. I am post menopausal and have been on bio-identical hormones for over a year, much to the chagrin of my oncologist, who would only agree to bio-identical. I suffered from mild anemia and high overall cholesterol even though my good to bad ratio is off the hook. I take the Therapeutics Methyl Multi w/out iron and the B Complex at the recommendation of my doctor’s office. Even though I eat right most of the time, I exercise 4-5 times a week and overall work hard to take care of myself I still felt fatigued and tired all the time. My concentration and ability to stay focused was as bad, if not worse, than when I started on the bio-identical hormones. My doctor suggested taking the B complex twice a day, but still found little relief from the fatigue. I am a naturopath by practice and continually research for natural ways to address health issues. I came across several articles regarding glutathione and decided to try a bottle to see if it would help. I trust Therapeutics products as they are pharmaceutical grade and have had good results with their vitamin supplements. I must say after 3 days, that’s right 3 days, I felt phenomenally better. I have weaned myself off the hormones, with no problems (no hot flashes or night sweats). I take the the multi-vitamin once a day, the B complex twice a day, and the Glutathione Gold once a day, in the morning. I have not felt this good in years. I have energy, the fatigue is gone, I have mental clarity and focus, and my sex drive is better than it was on the hormones. I look forward to my next blood work, I’d like to see how it has affected my anemia and other blood levels. I do recommend that you speak with your doctor or PA prior to starting this supplement, especially if you have asthma or shortness of breath for any reason as glutathione can constrict bronchial tubes. There are lessor doses than the Gold which may work as well if you do have a breathing issue but check with your doctor first, the doseage may need some tweaking for best results. For my circumstance this particular supplement and brand has greatly improved the quality of my life and I highly recommend its use. P.S. Don’t go with the cheap stuff, if you are over 50 you need a product your body can absorb and breakdown and a solid tablet doesn’t provide the same result as one that is methylated or in it’s purest form available by mouth.

Powerful Energy, Sense of Well Being and Enhanced Skin!
Initially I started using S-Acetyl Glutathione because in researching Glutathione, it was found that people were getting a more powerful positive effect from taking S-Acetyl Glutathione than any other form of Glutathione, including regular Glutathione, or Liposomal Glutathione. Initially I Purchased a Brand of S-Acetyl Glutathione which came in a dosage of 100mg capsules, which worked ok, I felt a little energy and my skin looked a little better, but is was not cost effective, because it only came in 100mg capsules (I took 500mg per day). I then looked for a higher dosage brand and came across Pure THERAPRO Rx Glutathione Gold. It comes in 300mg Capsules (and comparing apples to apples on dosage cost less per month than taking a higher number of 100mg capsules with the other brand). 300mg is the highest dosage of Glutathione I could find. In researching, I came across an article that said that it is not possible to manufacture Glutathione in extremely high dosages. In addition to the 300mg capsules , the Pure THERAPRO also has acid resistant capsules (The other brand did not). So I figured I tried it out, to see if it absorbed better and therefore worked better than the previous brand. So obviously I took 2 capsules (600mg to get the most equivalent dosage) once per day on an empty stomach and I got much stronger energy, sensor of well being (Good mood) and my skin looked far better (Glutathione is very good for the skin). By the way, what I also do, is to take 1000mg of Vitamin C at the same time (Glutathione and Vita C work very well together enhancing the effects ). I usually don't write reviews, but I figure it is good karma to write a review for an outstanding product that has worked so well for me. Dan B.

My skin tone, skin texture and dark spots have improved
I never write reviews. But given how much I rely on real (and hopefully not fake reviews) and research for the health products I purchase on Amazon, I wanted to write a review about Pure S-Acetyl Glutathione Gold. I've been taking it for two months now to treat facial dark spots, skin texture and skin tone that I've accrued over the past few years due to extreme stress and other factors. I can attest to seeing a difference with my current skin and supplementation regimen. I did a hefty amount of medical research on Glutathione's benefits and on different clinical trials for its efficacy on treating this issue. Although more research still needs to be done, S-Acetyl Glutathione has been clinically shown to be the most stable form with with the highest bioavailability. Emothion, the patented version of S-Acetyl Glutathione used in this product was created by Gnosis, a biotech company that I trust. I've read their research and I also use some of their other patented ingredients and have seen good results. I've also done my due diligence on making sure that this product was legit in it's manufacturing, purity and potency. Previous studies (non-Gnosis related) have shown that supplementation of reduced form of glutathione (GSH, 500 mg/d) has a skin-lightening efficacy in humans. A further study has shown that oral glutathione, 250 mg/d, in both reduced and oxidized forms effectively influences skin properties. In generalized estimating equation analyses, melanin index and ultraviolet spots of all sites including face and arm when given GSH (the reduced form) and GSSG (the oxidized form) tended to be lower than placebo. At some sites evaluated, subjects who received GSH showed a significant reduction in wrinkles compared with those taking placebo. A tendency toward increased skin elasticity was observed in GSH and GSSG compared with placebo. Subjects who received GSH showed a significant reduction in wrinkles compared with those taking placebo. A tendency toward increased skin elasticity was observed in GSH and GSSG compared with the placebo. That said, I'm giving it a four because the price is so high. In one month (after a total of 12 weeks of usage), I plan to cut down my dosage from 600mg to 300mg so that should help curtail costs. I started with 400 mg/day, then in the second month I began taking 600mg because it was more cost efficient to purchase their 300mg capsules. Regardless of price, I definitely recommend this product.

Bought for skin helped with my digestive issues
I purchased this because I am 31 years old and started to see wrinkles on my forehead. I read about Glutathione being good for the skin. So I started using it with Liposomal Vitamin C. 2 pills of this and 1 vitamin C in the early morning before work. I haven't done anything much different in my life that could explain my improvement other than this. I just started taking it a couple days ago. And wow! I have had energy at work, feel more animated. It's a natural energy, not for a few hours with a crash like an energy drink. And I used to feel I could not function without energy drinks because of my work shift hours. In addition to that, it helps me go to the bathroom in a comfortable manner. Not like a laxative where you have to run, but a clean colon feeling like I did what I had to. Really got rid of the bad stuff! My tummy is flatter, less bloated. I feel good after going to the bathroom. I know this a lot of TMI and I'm, not one that likes to talk about poop. But I didn't even realize how horrible my stomach and digestive issues were! I had been suffering so long either with diarrhea or constipation, and only some days like I felt like I went normal. But now when I go to the restroom (daily) to go number 2, it's easy to go and feel clean and light. I think I got rid of stuff that had been in my body and now the experience is wholesome LOL. I think this is how it's supposed to be, but I didn't even know how unhealthy my bathroom experience was before. Right now I am so happy with these unexpected benefits after taking this supplement for what a week?, that I didn't even wait to see if it betters my skin before writing this review. Also, I tried a liquid version of reduced glutathione last year, and experience nothing, nothing bad other than the flavor and nothing good. This one here, this brand of S-Acetyl is good!

Definitely expensive but good quality
This company is great. Very pure and no extra fillers etc. this oral glutathione actually does work really well. I can feel a difference when I take it. Whatever process they use to make their product it makes their oral glutathione absorbable which usually isn’t in oral forms in pills. But I can certainly tell a huge difference when taking it. I like to take them off and on but highly recommend taking while traveling, especially flying. It helps with the oxidative stress of flying/traveling. Always makes a huge difference for me post flights :)

Aids in recovery from antibiotic toxicty
Late last year I took Levaquin for a supposed URTI - Within the month I developed 29 different symptoms that range from tendon ruptures to nervous system issues (Brain fog etc). I've tried pretty much everything you can think of - And now I'm going to load myself up on this for a Glutathione challenge (1 pill every hour for 16 hours) - Please see below for the reasoning (and why you're probably not taking enough of it) One thing about S-A-Glutathione, it seems to be a much more bioavailable form of Glutathione, significantly more than the Liposomal Based Glutathiones (Anderson et al., 1985; 2004) - Has Antiviral activities (Vogel et al., 2005). However, All Glutathione have a shared flaw; The half life of Glutathione in serum is 10 minutes - According to Hong et al. (2005, Table 1). Glutathione was given to 7 human volunteers in IV form (50mg of Glutathione per kg of body weight) - Peak serum levels were reached at 10 minutes - Glutathione levels went from 4.3 (before IV) to 154 at 10 minutes, then dropped off to 11.1, 10 minutes later. Serum levels of GSH (Glutathione) returned to control values after 30 minutes. Total GSH levels went from 14.0 to 1219.8, then went back to baseline after 2 hours. According to Vogel et al. (2005, p. 57) S-Acetyl-L-Glutathione (S-GSH) as well as base Glutathione (GSH) serum levels increased by 8 and 4 fold respectively with supplementation of S-Acetyl-L-Glutathione. Total GSH was elevated for awhile as cellular systems absorbed it directly. Lu (1999) describes treatment with any form of Glutathione, should used with /high/ dosages (1000mg?+) to reach therapeutic values due to the shortcomings I mentioned. This finally explains to me why most of all the Glutathione treatments people have tried that doesn't work; They simply are not taking enough! Cursorily, I wonder what would happen if I took one pill each hour for the 'day'. 16 pills at 200mg would be enough to keep my serum GSH levels elevated for a long time, perhaps to help reverse any mitochondrial dysfunction I probably have from the levaquin.
