Very pleased, fret rocker works well and the board protectors are invaluable for when polishing frets with my Dremel like tool with buffer attachment. I have decided to make a bespoke full length tool to cover the whole fretboard for each of my instruments instead of moving it for each fret wire. The crowning file works quite well but it would be usefull if the two edges were marked so that you can tell at a glance which one is the finer or rougher of the two. They seem to clog quite quickly but a wire brush soon brings them back to life. Great set of tools for the price providing you keep them in good nick.

The metal fret covers are ok...even when you sand over them and scratch the surface and the chrome coating disappears...The rocking is perfect straight and do very well the job...but the fret filer is not a very good quality and requires a lot of job and I don't consider a professional filer..but again if you're patient the job can be done

the fingerboard protectors are good and the fret rocker is good but the fret crowning file is not good, has absolutely no bite to it at all, it just doesn't file, wrapped a piece of sanding paper round it and using it as a fret polisher instead

The fret protectors are OK - but then again - hard to get these wrong. The fret rocker appears to have been cut with a hammer and screwdriver (probably lazer cut)! The edges are really rough, and not particularly flat, The file is utterly useless - it won't even file my fingernail. So really, this kit is an absolute waste of money

This is pretty good for just the occassional fret work. My fret rocker was heavy gauge steel, good quality and, checked with a known straight edge, was a straight as a die. So excellent and this alone makes the whole set worthwhile as a decent one of these from luthiers suppliers is an overpriced £20-30. The fret guards were ok. A bit thin so may not last as long as thicker stainless ones. The file was also ok. Both edges seem to be the same size but the sizing was unclear. I used it on a Les Paul and it did the job but will likely lose its edge fairly quickly. Again, good enough for an occassional use, but not for a luthier using it every day. All in all, can't complain. I'm 2 guitars in and everything is holding up.

Having spent a several hours on you tube re setting up a guitar, I decided to have a go at my 35 yr old electric, never been serviced, guitar. The professional tools are expensive and I decided to purchase Alincov kit ( fret rocker and protectors all good) Having ensured the fret board is level I've I'd 7 high frets ,now levelled and shaped with the crown file. For perfect fret shine you will need to use other products...e.g. Fine steel wool....using the fingerboard protectors I'm impressed with this kit and would recommend for a competent DIYer.
