Best I've used do far
While this type of manual could never be detailed enough it is far better than the others I've used. It has more photos and diagrams than the Haynes manual and using them side-by-side I find I almost always prefer this manual.

Anyone who is looking at a Chilton manual pretty much already knows what it does... I will reinforce it's usefulness. I bought this so that I can figure out what projects I can do for myself on my first project vehicle. Easy read
This manual in combination with factory service manual allows diyers to fix a vehicle without having to be a grease monkey, although you may end up that way anyway.

If you own this truck, you should own this book.
I'm rebuilding one of these from the frame up, and the information in here is invaluable. I own several of the repair manuals and cross reference them to understand more on how they were built at the factory (and sometimes why they were built one way instead of another). But if you are just doing repairs, this is a really good book.

We ordered this book for a 1979 truck we are restoring. The whole first chapter of this book is about Subaru's!!! It is missing the whole first section on maintenance of the 79 truck! We don't need the Subaru maintenance chapter!!! What the heck???
