are the backings made of 14k gold too?

It's been awhile since I ordered, but best I can remember they are entirely 14K. However, many of the reviews said the posts were too short. I bought them as a gift for a 13 year old so thought they would be okay, they were not. They pinched and she was unable to wear them. I bought her 2mm, 3mm, 4mm and 5mm. The 4mm and 5mm were the ones that were too short because she wore these on the lower part of her lobe.

Are these posts still very short?

If you are ordering from parent company Honolulu Jewelry Company, yes the posts are short. I had to return them. They made my granddaughter's ears sore immediately. I bought from another company and the new ones are fine. I spoke to Honolulu and asked with all the reviews stating they are short, why hasn't this been corrected. Customer service said, they go by review percentages and complaints haven't reached a percentage that they feel is a problem. I did return them and got a full refund. Sorry I know longer have the paperwork and can't remember the name of the company that is listed on Amazon as the seller, but the parent company is Honolulu Jewelry.

Short stems

Seems to be holding up okay but it’s only been a week. Stem of earrings are INCREDIBLY short, and is the reason for the rating. Edit: Tiny stems broke. The replacement studs have a MUCH longer stem, thankfully.

Very disappointed

The earrings are fine but the nut, the piece that holds the earring on the ear is too small. When I tried to put one earring on, I dropped the nut and could not find it on the floor. They are too small and cannot be easily handled. You should charge a few dollars more or use gold over silver and use a larger size. Product is very disappointing.

Just what I was looking for

The earrings themselves are great. The backs are too little for the weight of the earrings. I replaced them with my own larger and more comfortable backs. The box was attractive (cardboard) and came with instructions on how to care for the earrings. Will have to wait and see how well they wear over time.
