It’s a WINNER! The vet wanted me to put my cockatiels on pellets and I tried for several months to find them something they liked and would eat but it’s been horrid, I got a sample pellet they liked but you can’t get it in the USA (why did you send it to me?) This Harrison’s was top recommendation by AI bought it today, delivered today and they are eating it. I’m so happy and relieved and pray it continues and not just because they are hungry.

The 15% protein content and density of the Harrison's AL formula fills the hens up and reduces their appetites on a calorie restricted regimen. Both are important for keeping the hens full. The toughness of the pellets was an annoyance at first because the hens would swallow them whole when they had difficulty breaking them, which led to choking. I moistened the pellets to avoid this problem and found they double in volume without disintegrating. They become doughy and biscuit-like with a crunchy core. This produced less dust while filling the hens up. Roudybush has the same calorie density as Harrison's AL (3.5 kcal/g), is 11% protein and crumbles easily without moistening but it does not keep the hens full. Moistening the Roudybush to add volume doesn't change this. When the hens are not satisfied they start trying to eat things that are not food. I reserve the Roudybush for the male who never has weight problems and as an easy to eat recovery formula. I highly recommend moistened Harrison's AL formula for hens that like to eat.

I'd say, "I love this stuff", but I haven't actually eaten any...but my cockatiel has eaten a couple pounds by now, and he's better than ever! I can tell he's put on weight, and is healthier. His attitude seems to be improved too. He's bulked up in the breast area, where seed had him sort of bony and weak. He was almost 1 yr old when I switched him to this, and he didn't recognize it immediately as food. I definitely started with the Harrisons hi energy extra fine, and even then he took a couple of weeks to switch to that. I didn't try any of the Lifetime Fine until a couple of months on the other stuff, and then I mixed them in a little bit at a time until he was completely on the Lifetime pellet. The Fine pellet is as large as I'd go for a Cockatiel, I think. He has to work a little bit to break them, which is good. I also switched to a no-mess feeding box for these, to prevent so much scattering, since they're expensive. It cut down on waste food about 80%, and nothing gets out of the cage. He sometimes carries one to a perch, but not so much as seeds getting flung out of the cage. Another thing I noticed is that he's definitely interested when I put a couple more teaspoons in each time. On seeds, he was obviously bored and hardly seemed to care. One thing of interest, the avian vet said that this food is OK to leave in the feeder for longer than the package recommends, as long as there's no fecal contamination. I never put perches above the food or water, so this has not been a problem, and I've been able to put 3-4 teaspoons out at a time without fearing that it would spoil. The package makes it sound like you need to treat this like fresh food or something, but that's unnecessary if you keep it cool and dry, in a sealed bag or container.

Harrison‘s is the best. I got a bag that was bad and my bird would not eat it although she has always eaten it enthusiastically. They sent me a brand new bag and she’s eating way happily again.

I like the quality of Harrison’s Adult Lifetime, but my Indian Ringneck doesn’t like to eat it by itself. I mix it with other pellets and a seed mix, and that works much better for him. He picks through the mix and eats the Harrison’s along with the other food. I’m happy to keep using it as part of his regular diet.

I used to feed my conure seeds, but wanted to get him on better food when I found out how bad seeds were for birds’ health. After some research, I found an overwhelming support for Harrison's bird food with people claiming it as the best alternative to pretty much anything else. I wasn’t convinced my seed addicted bird would take to pellets but decided to give it a go with a 1lb bag of Lifetime Fine. I wasn't really expecting him to eat it, so I made the complete switch from seed to this instead of gradually. Surprisingly, as soon as I gave him the bowl, he went straight for it and started eating like this had always been his favorite, and after a few weeks I definitely noticed a positive change in his energy and appearance. Getting him on a cleaner, healthier diet that he also loves is exactly what I was hoping for. He will be on this food for the rest of his life, for sure. EDIT: Roughly 10 years later and my guy is still eating up his Harrison’s, with not a single health concern to be had in all that time. 13 years young now and you’d think he was still 3 ! EDIT II: Knocking a star off. I have this food on subscription from this same seller and never had an issue before, but my most recent 5lb bag of Lifetime Fine has HUGE sized pellets compared to the last ~10 years worth of food I’m used to seeing. Second photo shows the comparison. Almost looks like Course size but the bag is definitely labeled Fine. Not sure if this is a new formula or a mislabeled bag, but either case doesn’t reflect well on this brand since my little guy is having a helluva time grinding these pieces down enough to eat. Hoping next bag is back to the normal sized pellets we’re used to; but at least for the next couple months, he’s stuck with giant pellets labeled for small birds :/

My son Bobby actually liked these pellets right away I was so surprised when I had him try it after first and now he loves them and will finish basically all of his daily serving size before he finishes his fresh veggies and fruits 🤍

Seems to keep my bird healthy.

I was advised to give this to my African Grey after he was very poorly. We had to change his diet completely. We were also told it would be a long process to switch him from seed to pellets. It took a week! My parrot loves these pellets and they're full of everything he needs.
