Best of the best if you want it.
These grips are absolutely fantastic. Great for actual use and even better for a retro build. These are unique and not for everyone but I like them very much. These are more of a full grip, i wouldn't call them large but noticeably filling if you're used to slim grips. Quality is top notch.

Absolutely Recommended!
Excellent quality product that solves all your standard-frame grip problems. Pachmayr has long since been the authority on aftermarket gun grips -they are the standard that all other grips are judged on, and if you order this for your Government or Commander-sized 1911, you'll immediately see why. As you can imagine, these are easy to install. Quality construction and intelligent design means you got a functional part that enhances the weapon system in a meaningful way. In addition to the functional enhancement these grips add to your 1911, you get some extras on the side -they're made right here in the USA and they give your 1911 a serious look. Beyond that, this is the famously-chosen grip of the United States Marine Corps for their M45 pistols before they picked up a modern contract with Colt to make the M45A1. The original "Frankensteined" M45s are still in service in a decent quantity, so even to this day you'll see MARSOC guys running Pachmayrs on their M45s. Bottom line, this is an outstanding, reliable, and inexpensive way of adding quality front-strap grip on your bare 1911 frame.Things to Consider:As a reminder, you definitely want to coat your frame in oil or preferably grease before installing these grips on your gun. Many people just throw them on the gun, only to find out years later when they remove them that rust has built up under the grips. It rains, there's water, and you sweat on your carry gun -throw some grease under this grip and you're set.Be cautioned, this grip has a little weight to it and adds a little thickness onto the grip profile. This won't be a big deal if you're used to the standard grips, but if you're going from slim grips to this, you'll not only need new bushings and screws, but you'll have to get used to it.As with any rubber-textured grips, this will grip and hang on t-shirts if you're putting this on a carry gun. I will say that it's really not as bad with this as some others I've seen, but that's always a consideration for any carry gun having rubberized grips.Just throw it in the cart already, you won't regret it.

Exactly what I was looking for
These grips are exactly the model I was looking for: GM-45C Signature grips. The stock photo, however, is misleading - these are for full sized frame 1911's, not compact models. They have flat sides with no thumbrest, and no rest at the bottom of the front strap. The material is much more rubbery and flexible than I expected, which is great for hugging the contour of the frame. The checkering is well-defined, but not sharp and not abrasive. They fit my 1911 perfectly, holes lining up properly. The purchase on these when drawing is excellent - you really feel like you have a good hold on them without having to shift your grip. The wrap on the front strap is nice, although the grip tape I was using is more effective. (On that note, I did not have to remove the tape to install these, so when/if I go to a different set, the tape will be there ready for action.) These do not seem to grab clothing even though they're rubber.I purchased these to replace a set of sharp checkered wood grips for carry. The wood grips would rub and grind at my side when I carried IWB with only a tshirt. These are much less aggressive and are much more comfortable against bare skin. I'd recommend them.

A little tight fit on a standard 1911.
Had to do some stretching to get it to fit on my 1911. Never had to do that before. Other than that the feel was good.

Fudd worthy stocks for your back to back World War champion.
Just like on the original pistols from Quantico. I first picked up a 1911 wearing these stocks in the 90's and loved the feel. The Springfield MC Operators came with these as well. Recently picked up a new find that came with VZ stocks, which I absolutely loathe. My new stocks came on time and only took a few minites of stretching to get fit over the grip screw posts of my new acquisition. Now have a few hundred 230grain freedom pills downrange with this in bare hands and gloves in winter conditions. No problems. They might be "old-school" but I prefer them over G10 scales, and am old enough to not care if I get called a Fudd.

Great grips and saved a lot of money
I had contacted a gun customizing shop about adding checkering to the front grip on my 1911 pistol. I was quoted a price of 250.00 plus 275.00 more to refinish the frame (required due to the machining process) that brought the total to 525.00 plus shipping another 75.00. So I decided why not give these a try and the worse that could happen was returning them. Well after a struggle to get the last screw in these are great! I got the added grip I was seeking/ looks great on my pistol/ covers up the worn finish. A real win X 3 for the modest price.
