04297 B-17F Memphis Belle Flying Fortress Model Kit

It's a great model, maybe a little larger than I need, but has great detail. I recently flew in the "movie version" of the Memphis Belle and so I just had to have a model that reflected my wonderful flight. Smoothest take-off and landing I've ever experienced. Thanks for having this model available so that I can "celebrate" my flight over and over.

Love the kit. Just what I expected. Very happy. Had shipping delay issues but only due to pandemic crisis. Don’t understand reviews complaining about lack of interior details when you can’t see them anyway. Excellent model.

what can i say about this product its a beautiful kit when already assembled and painted, wasn't very difficult to build but it did have its challenges. everything for the most part fits excellent but you will need to put a bit of effort for the fuselage and wings to stay together as this model is pretty big not too much detail on the interior but if your not too much of an interior guy/gal you'll be ok. decals were easy to put on the model. i do recommend this kit for all type of experienced modelers i believe the most skill you need for this beautiful kit is patience.

I built this model because I was looking to do a B-17, and this one had the cheapest price I could find. However, just because it is the cheapest does not mean it was the best. Frankly, it had a disappointing amount of detail. It only has half of the nose crew compartment and cockpit when it comes to the interior, so things like the radio room, bomb bays, and even the rib detail on the inside of the fuselage is missing. The kit features raised panel lines and minimal rivet detail, which do not make for a very realistic finish. There are some serious fit issues with the fuselage halves and the wing roots, which need a lot of attention. These were all justified when the model was $50, but the price has since increased. Honestly, if you are looking to do a B-17, I would recommend the old Monogram or the new HK models options.

Awesome kit delivered fast bought it for my sons birthday great kit not too complicated and it’s really big I have my son watching YouTube videos on the Memphis Belle while he builds it and learns a little history as well
