Where's the USB connections?

On the very top or narrow side. Two USB plus plug-in to charge by electricity. Same side as flashlight too. There’s a rubber cover when not charging.

I can’t figure out how to turn on the flashlight. Do you just press the power button?

Can I usually choose to use solar energy to charge the power bank?

SOLAR POWER IS NOT A FAD. maybe if you live the 'h'-'e'-double-toothpicks of the north, where you can not see the sun at noon - you should buy a diesel generator, some inverters, and commercial acid batteries (they weigh about 400Lbs each at 2.2volts).

Are the charging lights supposed to stay on even when power station is not in use?

Useless in cold weather

I had bought this powerbank last month and took it on a trek in the Himalayas. Solar charging is painstakingly slow, almost non-usable. Charging of phone from this takes more than eight hours. If you take it fully charged, it will last only one transfer of charge. Useless thereafter for a trek lasting more than three days.
