Review: All good - Haven't started on supplement yet. Review: Great product. Should be used in moderation. - Works very well to boost mood and also to help with pain. Does not have a bunch of junk fillers like the capsule form available from other companies. Don't take any later than early afternoon or you'll be awake all night. If you take too many a day your fingers and toes will both tingle. Much better value than other companies out there.

DLPA for dopamine production
Reasonable price. Good solution for those who can't tolerate tyrosine.

Improves mood and focus
Male, intellectually demanding job involving a lot of studying and constant professional development. After turning forty, I’ve noticed some puzzling changes without being able to identify obvious external triggers (new stressors, life milestones etc.): - A sense of ‘systemic irrelevance’ that appears to be almost existentialist in nature. Not really sadness, dread, or despair but rather the feeling that nothing really matters and there’re no meaningful goals worth pursuing. Grey, dull flatline. - Lack of mental clarity, difficult to set my mind to a task, inability to focus. Also wandering thoughts, rumination, and rehearsing uncomfortable or emotional conversations. - Food craves (especially carbs and sugary food) and constant desire of more and more intense artificial stimulation (social media notifications, news, and also thrilling and exciting online content). - Desire to consume hackneyed, soppy, and sentimental stuff. This sometimes goes hand-in-hand with mood swings. - Little or no desire to engage in anything remotely challenging or physically demanding. This is normally accompanied by the desire to snuggle up and sleep the day away. - Limited tolerance to cold. - Difficulty to shed weight despite active lifestyle and healthy diet. According to some sources, these seem to be symptoms of dopamine deficiency but please be aware I haven’t got any diagnosis and I’m not claiming medical expertise here. Started regular supplementation three months ago. It worked really fast, with effects becoming noticeable in 2-3 days then levelling off in a couple of weeks. I’m 192 cm, 110 Kg, athletic, and the minimum recommend dosage (500 mg / day) works very well for me. Increasing the intake has no effect. Symptoms detailed above have either disappeared or have become manageable. On top of that, I’ve noticed improvements in various areas: - Better focus and attention span. Sustained reading and writing have become significantly easier; memory has improved, although not dramatically. - Elevated mood. The effect is subtle although noticeable: no ‘high’ but rather enjoyment and zest for life. - Stronger motivation. A sort of zero-tolerance for nonsense, the desire to get things done, cross off items from an imaginary to-do list, moving obstacles out of the way in view of pursuing long-term goals. Note that isn’t a short-lived burst of excitement but rather a sort of steady, controlled energy. - Mental clarity, esp. perceptive, organised thoughts, and clear judgment without unwanted ‘noise’. It vaguely resembles the mental stimulation and endurance of caffeine but without the jitter and shakiness that normally come with it (and before the crash that inevitably follows once those initial effects begin to wear off). It doesn’t affect sleep. - Weight loss - the effect has been most notable around the waistline, there’s also less chin fat. - People have told me there’s something ‘springy’ in the way I go about; they said I look fresher and younger without being able to pin down what exactly has changed. Many have noticed that I seem taller which is probably due to a better posture (upright stance). Negatives: - As stated by many, it slightly elevates blood pressure. - No inherent improvement in learning and memory. I can achieve more because I’m more focused and motivated: cognitive abilities have remained the same. - When discontinued, the benefits seem to wear off rapidly - a week or so and I’m back to baseline. Stacked with: a) pulverised Maca root (500 mg / day); b) generic multivitamin / multimineral supplement.
