Works Unbelievably Well!
Dramatically and drastically reduced the number of flies around my porch. It took a couple days to really take off, but once it did, it WORKED. I have a stray cat who likes to poop under the porch where I can't reach to clean, and flies love it to the point where they would get into the house, causing a flymaggedon. It was so bad that I didn't really spend time on the porch. Now there are just a few here and there, and the jar is FULL. Now it's a different type of flymaggedon, and I haven't had any in the house in a while! I agree with others that you will want to place it around the corner or around the perimeter of your property. It isn't AS stinky as I expected (you honestly have to be pretty close to smell it once it's a bit filled up), but you wouldn't want to be near it for too long. I placed it in the car port and it's been extremely helpful. I was worried the smell would bother the neighbors but, like I said, it honestly is not that bad (it's stinkier when you first put it up, then the flies kind of cover the smell a bit). It's also wise to place it a distance away because there will be flies buzzing around it trying to get in. I am very excited that I can enjoy being outside again!!

Expensive and doesnt work
For 50 bucks it should do something. 3 weeks after use, it has only killed 3 flies.

The Best Fly Trap I've Found. Messy, Smelly, and Extremely Effective
In southern california every summer we end up dealing with flies because they are looking for water and after trying several different traps over the years, this is the one I keep coming back to.I've purchased other fly traps on Amazon, and while they caught a few flies, none of them came close to the Starbar Captivator. This thing is unbelievably effective. Once it's set up, it quickly starts filling up, and before long you'll be shocked, and honestly a little grossed out by just how many flies it catches. It can easily collect hundreds, if not thousands, over time. The one thing to be aware of is the smell. Yes, it has an odor, but that's exactly what makes it so effective. The scent draws flies away from your patio, barbecue, or wherever you're spending time outside. My recommendation is to hang it a good distance away from where people are gathering so it does its job without bothering anyone. We've been using these for several years now. At one point I couldn't find this brand, so I tried a couple of replacements. They worked to some degree, but the difference wasn't even close. As soon as I switched back to the Starbar Captivator, it reminded me why I'd stuck with it in the first place.Flies are simply part of summertime they don't necessarily mean your yard is dirty. If you're dealing with them every season, this trap does an outstanding job of pulling them away from you and into the trap instead. It's definitely not the prettiest thing to look at once it's full, but if your goal is to dramatically cut down on flies around your outdoor space, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

Love This Trap—Easy, Effective, Reliable
Love it! Catching flies is effortless, and the trap does a fantastic job of capturing them and reducing the fly population in my yard. I’ve tried other fly traps but keep coming back to this one for its design—it works the best and is the easiest to use.
