good, but costly.
It's been a month and still no leaks, so they will probably keep for a while. I little spendy, but it's doing a fantastic job; i mean, my basement hasn't flooded since the bathroom remodel. so... anyway. It would foster our trade with foreign companies if we could merely communicate and translate effectively.

3/4" BSP "G" thread
Product was exactly what I ordered, 3/4" BSP "G" / and npt threads worked for my project.

Perfect Option For Hardi Fuel Pump
Fit perfectly when installing a Hardi fuel pump in a 1965 MGB. Used this with a 90 degree NPT elbow.

Good quality
Not sure why these are needed - straight 3/8" threads crazy idea NTP is the only way to go

Metric to Us pipe thread adapters.
There was a pump at work by a German manufacturer we were tossing. Of course I grabbed it. Problem: thepipe threads were metric. Solution: I found this adapter at Horizon Direct Depot and it was exactly what I needed.

NTP thread or G tread that is the question
apparently the product received is a 1/2 G Thread (Metric BSP) Male to a 3/4 G Thread (Metric BSP) Female Pipe Fitting Adapter and not a 1/2 G Thread (Metric BSP) Male to 3/4 NPT Thread Female Pipe Fitting Adapter as the Female 3/4 fits perfectly with a 3/4 G Male and does nor fit with a 3/4 NPT Male. Not sure why but the Female part does not seem to be correct, neither the label.

Wrong size
Solid product. However, size was not as described. Ordered 1/2" MALE BSP x 3/8" FEMALE NPT, but received what appeared to be 5/8" or 3/4" female.

Good quality brass, but sizing is off
This adapter is made from high-quality, lead-free brass. It feels solid, resists corrosion, and is rated for up to 230 psi with a wide temperature range (-65°F to +250°F), so it seems great for many plumbing applications. I tried using it to connect a 3/4" faucet to a 3/4" garden hose, but the sizing isn’t quite accurate. The NPT side measures about 0.9" and the G Thread side about 1", so it didn’t fit my setup as expected. On top of that, the two threads aren’t really compatible. I tried connecting the two adapters together, but it would only twist a few turns before stopping, so it didn’t fit properly at all.

G‑Thread (Metric BSPP) Male to NPT Female Pipe Fitting Adapter – Lead‑Free, 1/2 inch
I picked up this 1/2‑inch BSPP‑to‑NPT adapter because I needed a reliable way to connect a European G‑thread (BSPP) fitting to a North American NPT system. These adapters can be hit‑or‑miss, especially when it comes to thread accuracy, so I measured the major diameters myself to make sure everything was machined correctly. Overall, the adapter feels solid, threads smoothly, and the machining looks clean. For a small brass fitting, the quality is better than many generic versions I’ve tried. 🔍 Do the Measured Diameters Meet the Specs? My measurements • BSPP G 1/2" male major diameter: ~21.5 mm • NPT 1/2" female major diameter: ~19.5 mm Here’s how those compare to the official thread standards: G 1/2" BSPP (British Standard Pipe Parallel) – Male Thread • Expected major diameter: ≈ 20.955 mm (commonly rounded to 21.0 mm) ✔️ This is within acceptable tolerance. Depending on where the caliper contacts the thread crest, readings between 21.0–21.5 mm are normal. BSPP threads are parallel, so the diameter is consistent along the length. 1/2" NPT (National Pipe Tapered) – Female Thread NPT threads are tapered, so the diameter changes depending on where we measure. • Expected major diameter at the large end of the female taper: ≈ 19.8–20.0 mm • My measurement: ≈ 19.5 mm ✔️ This is also within normal range. A reading of 19.5 mm is typical depending on depth and angle of measurement. Because NPT is tapered, slight variations are expected Conclusion: Both measurements fall within the expected tolerances for G 1/2 BSPP and 1/2 NPT threads. The adapter appears to be machined correctly and should perform as intended. 🧰 Build Quality & Ease of Use • The brass feels sturdy and well‑machined. • Threads are smooth, clean, and free of burrs. • The adapter seats properly without wobbling or cross‑threading. • Being lead‑free, it’s safe for potable water systems. It’s a simple part, but the precision is noticeably better than many low‑cost adapters. 🛠 Durability Assessment Strengths • Lead‑free brass is corrosion‑resistant and long‑lasting. • Thread integrity holds up well even after repeated installation. • Works reliably with PTFE tape or thread sealant. • Suitable for faucets, espresso machines, filters, and mixed‑standard plumbing. Potential Weak Points • As with any brass fitting, overtightening can damage threads. • The finish is functional rather than decorative. • Not intended for high‑pressure industrial systems. Overall durability: very good for home and light commercial use. 💵 Price Evaluation — CAD $20 At $20, this adapter sits in the mid‑range for specialty BSPP‑to‑NPT fittings. This price is reasonable for a lead‑free, accurately machined specialty adapter. You’re paying for precision and compatibility, not just the metal. 🧭 Final Verdict This G‑Thread BSPP‑to‑NPT adapter is a precisely machined, reliable fitting that does exactly what it’s supposed to do. My measured diameters (21.5 mm and 19.5 mm) fall within the expected specifications, which explains why it threads smoothly and seals properly. At CAD $20, the price is fair for a lead‑free, specialty adapter that bridges two different plumbing standards.

Specialized thread adapter that works when properly matched
As of this date, January 2026, the regular price of this item is $19.95. Without an available discount or coupon at the time. Additionally, this is a Two-Day delivery item with Prime, perfect for a last-minute gift or purchase. I received this brass adapter to try out and used it in a plumbing setup where a BSPP (G thread) connection needed to be adapted to an NPT fitting. This type of adapter is very specific, so compatibility and correct thread matching are critical. The brass body feels solid and has a standard finish typical for plumbing fittings. It does not feel lightweight or fragile. Since this is a precision fitting, proper alignment during installation is important to avoid leaks. After short-term use, it’s too early to comment on long-term corrosion resistance or durability under sustained pressure and temperature fluctuations. Pros - Clearly machined threads - Solid brass construction - Useful for adapting BSPP (G thread) to NPT - Straightforward installation if threads are correctly matched Cons - Very specific compatibility requirements - Requires proper sealing method depending on application - Not suitable for mismatched or incorrectly identified threads Who this is for - Homeowners or professionals needing to connect BSPP and NPT fittings - Plumbing setups involving imported fixtures with G threads Who it is not for - Anyone unsure about thread standards - Applications where thread compatibility has not been verified Durability / Build / Value perspective The adapter appears well-made for its intended purpose, and brass is appropriate for this type of plumbing application. At this price point, value depends largely on whether you specifically need this exact thread conversion. Final verdict (TL;DR) A functional and well-machined BSPP-to-NPT adapter that works as intended when used correctly. Best suited for those who clearly understand their thread requirements.
