How is the chain oiled without auto oiling ? And can you use spray cooking oil to keep lubricated?

Direction illustrates oil being poured right onto the the bar and chain. I have just been pouring small amounts of bar chain oil right onto the chain where it goes into the housing. So far this lil saw is doing a great job. As far as using cooking oil. IDK. Hope this helps.

can i buy a extra chain and batteres

I don't know but it comes with an extra chain and two rechargeable batteries.

Do the chains need to be oiled?

The directions state that they do but in another area it said “ ready to use”. I charged both batteries and used it to cut 2 trees down. I will be putting oil on the chains next time I use it to be sure it doesn’t stop working.
