This book is a translation in english poetry of the great book of lifetime ASTABAKRA GITA . Its class is a Noble Prize grade in worldly classification and Bliss in Silence in Spiritual attainment . Both the original source and and the translation in English is a life changing subject matter . So much so that the day I received the book I uploaded the reading from the first chapter including the cover picture in Youtube for the public awareness . This book if read in concentration is sure to guide the reader to that realm of wisdom and devotion from which the Revered scholar translator Dr Byrom was blessed to complete his work of the life time . On 1st of January 1886 in Kashipur Garden House Sree Ramakrishna Deva blessed the world , LET YOU BE ILLUMINED. This is the exact subject matter of this original book and its grand translation in English. It is the ever guide to Peace Station. Reverence to All .

A beautiful book that takes you into a journey of your own being. Simple and direct words. No unnecessary translation or commentary. Thanks to Swami Sarvapriyananda for highlighting this book in his ashtavakra talks. Holding the book itself gives one the vibrations of different kind.

The Author has, it is clearly visible that, put in lots and lots of efforts and translated. The English words are weighted and are with full of meaning. In nutshell, a must read for those who do not know Sanskrit.

easy to understand in english

A slightly more compact hardcover edition, perhaps a couple of inches shorter in both length and breadth, would be appreciated. This is not a matter of mere preference but rather one of convenience.

The jist of the book is presented in a form which is easily comprehensible and poetic both at the same time. This is not a word by word translation. It carries the essence of the book in an easily understandable format. The actual lines in the original are repeated at times for emphasis. Those reiterations are not present here.

The orderer of this book expected that the original sanskrit verses should have been mentioned before their translation. So he was a bit disappointed. Translation seems to be good to him.

Classical and highly probing. Watch sarvapriyananda’s videos on the essence of Astavakragita before you read the book we can understand better. A must read for advanced spiritual seeking. My pranams to the author for his courage to attempt to translate and his very clean writing.

Best buy of the year! I love this book, and have it nearly always with me.. Just as perfect to read when you've a few spare minutes in public transport or at the dentist, just as well as reading it in the comfort of your own home on the couch. Deeply inspiring, and moves one deeply into Presence & Consciousness.

This is the truth that everyone looks for. It surpasses creed, colour, race, lineage, prejudices and goes straight to the origin of who we are. The truth is not Religion, the Truth is not Society, the Truth is not even Spiritually, the Truth is you, Pure Consciousness. I find reading and assimilating the Heart of Awareness with lectures from the Vedanta Society of New York, specifically from Acharya Swami Sarvapriyananda, referring to the Mandukya Upanishad and my latest addition, Ashtavakra Samhita, makes everything understandable. A beautiful translation of one of the key texts of the Advaita Vedanta tradition, The Ashtavakra Gita. I bought it as a source of readings for a meditation zoom group I am a member of (The School of Meditation, London, in case you are interested). Thomas Bryson's introduction is heartfelt and informative, and the translation of the text is clear and inspirational, giving direction to our meditation practice.
