After breaking yet another Bodum glass beaker, I decided it was time to get a metal cafetiere. This was cheaper than two Bodum glass beakers, and cheaper than a Bodum cafetiere on its own. How does it shape up? In a word, great. I had some concerns about the handle in case there was a screw to come loose, but it's solidly welded so that's OK. The sides and spout are seamless. The filter mesh is actually a lot better than Bodum's, meaning less fine grounds in your cup, and it comes with 2 spare meshes as well. Like Bodum's, the filter can easily be unscrewed from the plunger for cleaning. Basically it feels pretty bombproof. I've bought one for home and one for taking camping, and I don't expect either of them will ever need replacing unless there's some freak accident involving a truck or the house collapsing. For cleaning, there are no obvious dirt traps. The lid is double-skinned, and I was concerned that it might gather water in the dishwasher. The hole for the plunger is large enough that it drains OK though, and being metal it dries well in a dishwasher anyway. If I have to find one negative point, it's that it isn't really insulated and it doesn't retain heat much better than a regular glass cafetiere. For most people I think this won't be an issue, but if you really need a Thermos cafetiere then buy a Thermos cafetiere instead. Apart from that minor point, I have to say it's a really good bit of kit at a really good price. Highly recommended.

After smashing three glass French presses, I bought this. Does the job perfectly. Even if I drop it, it ain’t gonna smash! Brilliant, and should last years!

better than glass due to keeping heat in although you cant see how much coffee is left but this makes for small mugs so you can judge durable great coffee pot that should last many years ,id had a few bodum ones through the years

Have been using glass french presses for some time, which are obviously prone to breaking. Saw the Kitchen Stars s/s french press and was suprised at the price and quality. Double walled so does not get hot on the outside but keeps the coffee hot inside. Beautiful, sleek design and as it's Stainless steel its made to look good in any home. A generous capacity with a handy measuring spoon/clip. Would recommend to all to invest. This product has been well thought over and constructed.

It is very sturdy better than the glass ones I have had before, it keeps the coffee hot and looks good as well, it is priced well so not any more expensive than the glass ones

Nice product, just doesn't keep warm for long

Having broken about 10 glass cafetières, my husband opted for something unbreakable. The cafetière looks fab, really good quality and keeps coffee warm for ages. Would definitely recommend, great value for money for regular users.

Looks good. Makes great coffee and easy to clean. Keeps heated for a long time, if you can wait that long! Going to order another one for my son. Ideal for camping too. Have just received second one that I ordered for my son. Quick delivery. Looks exactly like the first one !
