Bose QuietComfort Ulta 2nd gen headphones
I've tried other headphones and earphones but nothing comes close to upstaging these Bose QuietComfort Ultra(2nd Gen) headphones for sound quality, noise cancellation, battery life, connectivity or comfort over long listening times. I absolutely love listening to my classical, opera and all other music through these headphones. Great value on the sale.

Best all-round premium ANC headphones!
For me, the best overall ANC headphones. In terms of the acoustics, the Sony M6 is generally considered superior, but I personally have not found that distinction. They sound great, and immersive mode is my choice. The EQ could be better in the app, but maybe that will be update from future firmware. As for comfort, they are way ahead of the competition. Long haul flights will be so much more comfortable as well as noisy train/metro travel. They look great with premium build quality- I chose desert gold. Battery life is good enough for my requirements covering long travel journeys with ease. I do wish Bose kept the physical button for volume control, but the touch slider is OK once you get used to it. Also, the headband adjustment is not ratcheted which I prefer, but relies on a smooth tug, which sometimes results in an asymmetrical look. These are small niggles! Overall, for me they are the best options. In summary, great ANC, ultra-comfortable fit, strong acoustics, and premium quality looks.

Great and even significantly improved over the impressive at the time QC35’
This is a review from feedback my brother who I purchased these on behalf of - they were, hopefully, to be an upgrade from the Bose QC35 he’d had for 8 years to the month. He really like these and apart from getting me to replace the ear cup covers twice they remained as good as they were from new. Used most days for an hour or few, sometimes more. First impressions… * Feel smaller, lighter, more comfortable fit * Sounded significantly better with the bass response really impressive * Noise cancellation significantly improved with the transition from quiet to the new aware mode smooth and not jarring. After three weeks… * Much better than QC 35 … sources include Classical lrock and other music, speech from TV and Radio * Lighter on head * More comfortable ear cuffs so can use much longer * Continuous adjustment of headband better than QC 35’s step * Better Noise Cancelation * Aware mode uses microphones to provide very good sound from noisy’ish rooms with TV and even modest music * Better Base Sound Environment * Aware Mode provides better in ear awareness as uses headphone’s microphones to recreate ambient sounds in the headphones * Cinema mode produces more understandable lyrics * Use of iOS App to control headphone functionality Is preferable to using the on headphone buttons and slider * Very impressed. A considerable better experience over my QC 35

Phenomenal Headphones
These are by far the most outstanding pair of headphones I’ve ever owned. The design and style is premium and modern. I like how well they fit me and that they are super comfortable. The sound quality in my opinion is far better than the B&O headphones I had before. The bass is heavy for workout music at the gym and they are also great for acoustic listening and podcasts. The controls are phenomenal and it’s super easy to change the volume. I’m delighted with the accompanying case which is handy. I think the quality is outstanding because they are strong, sturdy and durable so will last me for years to come even with heavy usage. They are well worth the investment because the value for money is exceptional. I have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending these headphones.

Great ANC headphones*
*Update: I have returned these headphones due to the intermittent nature of the ANC. To explain; the ANC does not operate at a constant level. Instead, it adapts to your environment, and whether audio is playing or not. This causes the ANC to ‘drop out’, which can be annoying if you just like to sit in silence at times. This is different to the way my gen 1 QC Ultra Buds operate, which have a much more consistent level of ANC. This is a shame, as I really like the headphones besides this issue. I’ve removed 1 star from the original review. ———————————————— So far, so very good. Bose is still the market leader for noise cancellation. As someone with ADHD/ASD, noise cancelling is hugely important to me and gives me half a chance of navigating through a world of sensory overload. I've owned a pair of QC Ultra Buds (Gen1) for over 2 years and use them every day. I'm very happy with them, but I wanted to try a 'proper' pair of over-ear ANC headphones for more long term comfort and battery life. I'm impressed with these headphones so far. They very much feel like a premium product (as they should do for the price) and have clearly been well thought out in terms of design. The Sony XM6 is also highly rated, but after trying both of these at my local John Lewis store, I am of the opinion that these Bose headphones are more comfortable and offer a more comprehensive range of noise cancellation. Although appearance is not that important to me, the Midnight Violet is beautiful and makes a nice change from the traditional black and silver colours. I just hope the glossy finish on the arms holds up over time.

Very very disappointed :(
Loads of research and finally chose these - despite reading about the occasional issue about clicking or popping in the right ear cup. Mine sadly does exactly the same and whilst it’s not the end of the world, for £400 I expected better. I cannot fault the appearance of the headphones themselves and I really didn’t want to return them, but this has to be a connectivity issue. Despite reaching out to Bose directly, all they wanted to do was troubleshoot - specifically trying different media sources. They didn’t seem to appreciate that it makes no difference to a consumer if they work fabulous for podcasts, if the consumer doesn’t listen to podcasts. The chat help was contradictory, patronising and ‘economical with the truth’ expecting me to perform factory resets and other operations that required more that 2 hands - all on a set of headphones that hadn’t been out of the box for longer that 2 hours. This is not acceptable. For that price, I expect them to just work. Poor service overall and I’m really upset with myself for falling for the hype - you might be lucky and get a good pair, but then again. . .
