Coleman Red Canyon 8-Person Camping Tent, Weatherproof Family Tent Includes Room Dividers, Rainfly, Adjustable Ventilation, Storage Pockets, Carry Bag, & Quick Setup

**EDIT** I bought this tent for $121, now I see it's at $100 - BUY THIS TENT NOW! :) We took this tent for a week-long family car-camping trip in the Smoky mountains and it was GREAT. Here's what I think about it: 1. Not recommended for 8 people - that would suck. We had 4 people with 4 twin air mattresses and it was so much more pleasant to camp in this than in smaller tents we've tried. It's nice to be able to fully stand up in the middle of the tent. Plenty of room for gear. 2. It rained for 36 hours straight, and only a tiny bit of water seeped in at the very ends that aren't covered by the rain fly - but that was easy to just sop up with a towel or whatever from time to time. It wasn't very gusty though so I can't say if it would hold up well in high winds (but I imagine it would be OK). We didn't use a tarp as a footprint - just set it up and it stayed much drier than I anticipated (thank goodness). 3. It got down to the low 40's at night but it didn't get crazy cold in the tent. We opened the two side windows during the day and it was perfect. 4. It was very easy to set up and tear down. Just pay attention when you're setting it up to how it's folded so you can fold it up the same way and it will definitely fit back into the carrying bag very nicely. It can be confusing if you don't remember how it was folded in the first place. 5. Great price! I've camped in way more expensive gear from fancy camping gear stores and besides the zipper mechanism, I have no idea why in the world the other companies get away with charging 4 times as much for their tents. This was perfect for our camping week. I think Coleman brand has come a long way since the early days of leaky tents and inferior products. I was hesitant to get this tent at first but now I'm really glad I did instead of spending a bunch of money on a fancy brand!

I'm a hiker and I have a couple of ultra light tents that I take hiking with me. However, my family and I were about to go on a car camp weekend and I needed something to fit 5 people + 175 lb dog. I didn't want to spend a lot of money and wasn't sure if I should invest in an expensive tent only for it to be used once. So after reading the reviews I decided to give this Coleman a try. I honestly had my doubts at first because as an advanced hiker I have not owned any Coleman products. However, after my first use I'm completely sold on this tent with the versatility, durable construction, and ease of setup and tear down. I took this tent out of the box for the first time at the camp site (not a good idea generally). I recommend that you take it out and test set it up before you go on your trip in case something is missing and to get a feel for the pieces/parts beforehand. I was lucky and had plenty of daylight at the camp site. Setup was actually very quick and I was done setting up the tent by myself (easier with two people) before others that have started their tent setup well before me. The inside of the tent is very roomy and you can easily stand up and walk around. What I liked the most about the tent is the simplicity of design and roominess. It also is a lot bigger than what the pictures implies so you will need a good foot print to prop up the tent along with the ropes that extend past the tent to stake it properly. This is not a negative but just be aware of that. I do recommend that you get a tarp to place under the tent. I placed my tent on top of a nice flat dirt surface which is common in some camp sites. Nothing wrong with that except that overnight on a cool night it might get damn under the tent from the ground. The bottom of the tent is very sturdy and that's not an issue but it took me some time when I got home to air out the tent, let the dirt dry, and dust it clean. It definitely needs to be cleaned before you stow it away and having it on top of a tarp will make a big difference. I'm now looking forward to more camping using this tent. The whole family enjoyed the fact that it comes with a floor mat, has windows which can be covered, and has privacy partitions on the inside along with pockets on either side to slow various things in. It is almost like hope away from home. Very nice tent and I will give Coleman products more consideration next time I shop for outdoor gear.

Solo sus. Familia de 4 personas 2 perros y nos encanta hacer camping, la verdad es muy amplia me encanta que puedes dividir en secciones la carpa por dentro y así tienes un espacio ma s privado aora cambiarte! También es alta yo mido 1.65 y no tengo que estar agachada en la carpa. Usualmente ponemos 2 colchones dobles dentro d e la carpa para nosotros y estamos muy cómodos. Es una carpa para climas cálidos y templados. Para climas fríos de 2 grados o menos no la recomiendo ya que tiene mucha ventilación y no es tan fácil mantener el calor por el tamaño. Para climas cálidos es perfecta ya que tiene varias ventanas que cuentan con mosquetero y además puede abrir en diferentes modos y el viente fluye.

Muy grande. Fácil de montar. Ventilación magnífica, buena protección contra la lluvia y mucha luz. Aunque indica que puede alojar 8 personas, por comodidad sería poco recomendable más de 5 adultos. El margen es mayor si van niños. Buenas calidades. No apta para invierno pues por su diseño no retendrá el calor. Mi precio de compra fue 267 Eur

I was a bit dubious after reading some of the negative reviews but figure the size itself was worth a try. Had this up in the garden for 3 days and I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was for 1 person to put up. We had all weather on us, sun rain and wind. The tent stayed dry with no leaks and the best bit was 0 condensation thanks to the extra mesh on the tent which is ace as there's nothing worse the waking up to drips on you in the morning. I would say it would fit 6 rather then 8 (4 adults 2 kids). We had our king-size mattress in there with our 2 dogs (working beardie and East European Shepard and we still had loads of room left so we even stuck our porter Loo down the one end coz why not :D For the price this is a great addition for camping and for me the best tent I've ever purchased so would highly recommend.
