This is a real solid block of a kadhai, even the smallest size weighs like a ton. For people wanting to cook in solid iron vessels, this product is a gem of a find. I ordered the kadai combo and am seriously impressed with the sturdy build of these kadhais. For people used to cooking on non-stick / other metallic kadhais: this comes with a textured surface, and will take some seasoning / nurturing to get used to. Maintaining this is also important, a simple wash would leave the surface coated in rust unless you remember to season it and store, and use it again before the oil starts to turn rancid. However the experience you get from cooking stuff in this would be unparalleled - there are master chefs who swear by cast iron vessels. It is a great find here, and you will be paying just a third of what you'd pay for a Lodge product. And in the bargain, you support a dwindling rural livelihood as well. Would request Zishta if they can find some flat bottomed pans / skillets as well for searing - I would happily spend on it rather than going for the expensive Lodge ones.

Buy this if you are health conscious, you want some iron in your food, you hate fancy non-stick kadais, you want something to last long for generations, you want something sturdy on the stove. Don't buy if you don't like heavy kadai, you feel difficult to maintain cast iron cookwares. Note : - Cast iron cookwares are prone to rust when it contacts to moisture in the air and water. - This cast iron come with pre-seasoning, but still you can clean first time and re-season again, - Please check how to maintain in youtube before buying this, and find your needs and priorities. For me, i am completely satisfied with the quality and it's worth the money.

Unfortunately, while seasoning the kadai for the first time, I noticed a crack developing across the surface (please find attached photos). This clearly indicates a manufacturing defect since the product cracked under normal seasoning/usage conditions.Although the Amazon return window closed on 26th August, I kindly request you to process an exception replacement/refund, as this is a defective item supplied by the seller. I have attached the product photos for your reference. Please let me know how to proceed.

When it comes to traditional cookware, it's only Zishta. Nice packing.

Writing this review after using the product. Clearly value for money. Loved it. Seasoned the kadai as they have mentioned. I bought the smallest size, needed for daily tadka but can easily be used for frying puries (One at a time) and making pakoras in small batches. Kadai retains the heat for long time, hence no wastage of gas and oil. Have stopped using microwave almost to nill as love reheating my vegs in this cute kadai. PS : its very heavy material. Wish could buy all the sizes but already have the M nd L size iron kadai from other brand.

This kadhayi is true iron kadhayi. Did the seasoning as instructed and it Doesn’t sticks the food, easy to clean and maintain but it is too small in size which makes it’s usability restricted. However you can use it for boiling milk and making small quantities. Go for it if u want a beginner level iron kadhayi.

I was a bit sceptical buying this because of the maintenance that is needed. I had bought it to make for my kid. The heat retaining capacity is good and the quality is great. Tip for people who says it rusts: FYI this is iron so if cleaned with water and left it will surely rust. Once cleaned with water clean with dry cloth and apply some oil . It will not rust.
