Factory sealed, well packaged and SMART data verified that the drive had not been previously used. I mention this as the reseller did not appear to specialise in IT equipment so the supply chain was in question. So far as the drive functions, it was purchased to replace a failed 1TB S300 used in a Hikvision CCTV DVR. As a drop-in replacement it's ideal; the spin up and seek times are equivalent, the larger cache helps smooth out write operations and the noise levels are no worse than the original 1TB drive (very quiet rotation, average seek). As for longevity, it's been operating for a month with no issues. I'll update the review if any faults develop, but with the high MTBF I'd expect this to provide at least a solid 5 years of operation.

Nice, quiet hard drive. I'm using it in a media server that I've recently put together,and I figured that a drive intended fir continuous use should last yonks in this application. It's not the absolute fastest drive, though it is pretty decent, however it's not meant to be, however I get no glitches when streaming hd video, so it suits me perfectly. Superb, efficient delivery,as always with Amazon

Seem to be good. Using them for a NAS system as a starter set. Bought 2 for a raid 1 set up. Can be used for pc also

Bit expensive compared to Seagate or WD, but it runs the coolest. Even cooler than an SSD! So I'm hoping this will translate into a relatively long life!

Llego en lo acordado, ya instale mi disco y tambien funcionando bien. No tengo queja por el momento, cuando pasen unos meses opinare de su desempeño.

I use it for backup data, I don't care about speed, noise, only reliability is important for me. I firstly tried with cheaper options like WD and SG but after a few months I have failures. With this one, after 2 months I haven't had any problem. I have another older toshiba 1Tb almost full (as a redundant media) that I will replace with this same model if it still working some months later.
