Does anyone know the difference between this and the wheeliebird model? I see the wheels, handle, but otherwise?

I believe the only difference is cycle time between throws. It's not enough to bother my family and I when we shoot. Still faster than hand throwing.

Do you have to manually change settings to get different launch angles or does it change between throws?

I find it much easier to put a 2x4 shim under the front legs. Drill it for the stakes and it's easily removable or replaceable for different angles. Changing the rear leg pins is a pain.

What kind of gun does everyone use for the shooting

Perhaps you are looking at this for a gift for someone? This launcher is for launching targets for shooting with a shotgun. It can serve as a recreation activity on it's own or as as a way to keep a bird hunter's skills up as hunting season approaches. The type of shotgun doesn't matter much though a short barreled "defensive" shotgun would not be the best because those are generally used for shorter range shooting.

Does it come with a battery, or do you have to buy one separately?

This Electronic Trap does not come with a battery. If you go to the web site it will lead you to a 10ah battery that they recommend for this trap. Have gone through 270 clays goofing off in a day and had no failures do to low battery.
