Excellent entry model for Mesh Wifi
As a network infrastructure specialist, setting this up for a small area and a moderate range outside this EAP255 is pretty easy. The software is free and easy to navigate and setup. This by no means an alternative to the newer industry standard Ubiquity software and hardware, but comes really close. As I have set more than 3 of these in a single network the OC200 controller is a must and makes setting all the EAP's a breeze. The PoE adapter is necessary, but if you are running off a PoE switch you can omit these. Great coverage and MESH capability, i would recommend this for home, office and small outdoor uses. Brilliant product for a fraction of the price.

Not easy to setup but good results
Not very intuitive to setup but great and reliable once you get there, I would advise you only get these if you have an excellent knowledge of setting up wifi/networking.

Does the job
I like TP-Link stuff. It does what you expect. This unit replaces another companies dual band air station. The other one was slow on the G5 band and had poor signal coverage. This one I have an 150MB/s on G5 at 30/40 meters with avery good range. Remeber these devices also have to take commands from your phone. No point in having one that transmits for miles, but is so deaf that when you send a comand from your phone it doesn't pick the instruction up!

Don't bother
Signal strength is terrible and so range is hopeless, I get about 30m outside. It's mounted high up on the side of my house, my cheap netgear plugin gives almost equal performance which is inside my garage about the same distance away. But the main problem is that some devices (Apple iphone ipads) don't even seem to recognise it. My laptop sees it but wont connect and jumps to a different wifi signal in preference. The signal seems to disappear and reappear for no apparent reason. Truly a waste of money.

Not easy to set up because it’s incompatible with Uk power outlets
I should have read the previous reviews because several said this was not compatible with Uk power supplies (it comes with European plug). At first, I thought this was just an error with the delivery. But I ordered a replacement, having explained to customer service what the problem was with the first one, and the same thing happened again. So basically it’s not compatible and therefore not easy to set up. I’m not allowed to just say it comes with the wrong plug - Amazon blocked my review which said this.

Great as a true outdoor repeater/mesh
This is one of very few outdoor units that can work as a repeater. I fitted one to the garage roof outside to cover a 2 acre garden with both 2.4G and 5G wi-fi. I couldn't easily run ethernet cables to the garage although it does have power. I originally fitted a cheaper unknown brand outdoor repeater but although this worked well for some devices, other devices including my iPhone refused to connect reliably to it. As did a Wemo switch. - I go so fed up with it I replaced it with the above which now works wonderfully. Note to use this as a repeater you have to have one wired unit as it is not a simple repeater, although it does then create a mesh so you can easily add further ones. I replaced one of my AP's in the house with one these and fitted the other to the Garage roof. To run a mesh properly you need a controller on the network although once set up if you only want to use it as a repeater you can remove it - The controller can be a windows/Linux PC or a dedicated box - I simply run the linux version of the Omada controller software in a container on my QNAP NAS box. The controller software gives you a lot of information and control and also allows guest login if you want to use it. It is also one of the few that allow you to use true Power over Ethernet although a power insertion box is also supplied if you don't have PoE. Takes a little setting up but once done it is great and very easy to expand then if you want. Has so far been 100% reliable and everything is happy connecting to it, with a good range.

Poor quality control
Twice you have sent this item wrong. You have delivered both items with a foreign 2 pin lead rather than a 3 pin uk lead..can only say quality control must be none existent
